Planetary - Re Awareness

Perpetual Line Stepper  hits hard  right off the bat with a  thick and warm kick drum driving forward a hypnotic synth groove inspired by the motion of bodies on a full floor as experienced from the DJ booth.
Executive Order 12333  is the outside cut on the flip and it takes  a  deeper, more sinister direction with floating melodic rhythms and thumping basslines.  In the spirit of different directions the “different mix” of Perpetual Line Stepper is the inside cut.  The mood is similar to the mix on the flip side but this mix swings the vibe around to a sexy and futuristic peep show in an orbiting red light district.

The  Shadow Locked EP hits off with smooth, driving use on A1 Shadow Locked.  The dynamic, harmonious succession of sounds griping to rhythmic baselines evokes a profound funky, dane into the night kind of feeling.  A2. Kraftwerk am Strand is wonderfully playful track whose sensitivity to the beautiful female vocals.  B1, Theory of 3/4/3 Aplha is a pure Techno Soul track whose origins must be in the depths of the soul, warm dance grooves which remind  us of the heavenly Mode M (Void Records, GB) although Dan’s music can’t be so easily compared.  His style is very much his own. Distinctly Curtin. The futuristic Track B2, You’re so Dirty, is a self generating cleverly composed soundscape which reinvents itself through clear, driving beats.  The vinyl comes full circle with an exciting and funky vision of the future in which Dan Curtin, in terms of dance music, clearly shows he’s in a class of his own.

Dan Curtin returns back to classic form with a 4 track EP of smooth, deep, calculated beats. Dan takes us through a time warp with elements of jazz, funk, and R&B, with his own inimitable touch that puts his music in a unique category all its own. Autonomic Groove reminds of the better Purveyors of Fine Funk material, while other songs such as Bygone Epigone and Chained present new takes on Dans familiar jazzy sound. Another cool Down Low item!

Lost Control 10th Birthday - Part 1 w/ Dan Curtin, Black Eyes + Denise Bauer - 23rd June 2023

Reinstated is a new series from Metamorphic created to release music from Dan Curtin that has been previously released but only in very limited fashion on various compilations.  These tracks have never available digitally and most likely not heard by many apart from those who may have purchased the original compilations.  In the 90s CD compilations were very popular and many tracks have only been released on these compilations but nowhere else since that time.  Each volume will feature obscure tracks by Dan from some of these compilations, and Reinstated Volume 1 will showcase the following:  “Debris” was originally released in the 90s on the Fragmented Records compilation, Fragmented Records Vol 1, “Migration” was originally released in the early 90s on the compilation 3rd Side of The Record and “Migration (Config 2) has never been released until now. Finally, “Round Trip” was also released in the early 90s on the Volume Records compilation Trance Atlantic.  None of these tracks have seen the light of day since the early 90s and we are thrilled to bring these back out in digital format today.  Each release will be accompanied by a limited addition brushed aluminum print featuring the release artwork, available for separate purchase.
