Our collective has come together in Bleepsequence's fourth collaborative compilation with new efforts in manifesting the deep passions and anxieties of our fluctuating patterns of consciousness. The assignment: Forming dreams into sound. The experiment resulted in a beautiful haze of textures, lush pads, strange found sound, clicky grooves, and thoughtful moods ranging from peaceful to foreboding.

It is with extraordinary honour that we are pleased to introduce today's guest. Chris Roman, aka 214, has a habit of getting lost in his studio, which happens to be tucked into the same mystical foothills as the David Lynch town of Twin Peaks, a location whose presence looms across much of Roman’s audio narrative, deftly playing foil to his creative heritage as a Miami native grounded in that area’s electro scene.
Since his production debut in 2002 Roman has cultivated a substantial discography of future dance floor thump and heady sci fi vapors with releases on notable labels such as Frustrated Funk, Klakson, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Shipwrec, 20:20 Vision, and Touchin Bass. He's also appeared on three Fabric compilations, including an exclusive track commissioned for Steffi’s highly lauded Fabric 94 mix.
Though clubs all over the world have hosted 214’s hardware-heavy live sets,including 3 performances at acclaimed Berghain, he’s also known for working dance floors with dexterous precision for anyone lucky enough to catch him behind the decks.
214’s upcoming projects include EPs for Frustrated Funk and a Science Cult V/A.

Which artists has influenced you the most? 
- This is a tough one to answer. I'm someone who loves consuming all styles of music in all genres. I think that is something that reflects in my music more than specific artists. I've been influenced by many over the years.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- I just released an EP for Frustrated Funk about 2 months ago and have another on the way soon. Likely available at the end of summer/early fall. There's also a track I contributed to an upcoming Science Cult V/A that I'm excited about.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now? 
- Relevancy is not something I'm looking for. There's a number of quality artists and labels who haven't released in a while who I still pull to play, but there's also a large number of new labels and artists releasing interesting music. What I love about the current state of music is how many artists are creating sounds based on mixing multiple genres.

What inspires you now to create music? 
- My surroundings and music from all genres. Inspiration is all around us.

What set-up do you use when creating music? 
- A combination of hardware and software. I find the secret sauce to come from both worlds.

On Biotope, @valentinomora ventures even further from the dancefloor, delving into a rich, psychoacoustic realm shaped by modular and spectral synthesis. Built primarily around the Rossum Panharmonium, a module that analyzes and re-synthesizes audio into evolving harmonic clusters in real time, the album conjures an imagined ecosystem, where sound behaves with the logic and fluidity of organic life. Eschewing traditional field recordings, Mora instead sculpts textures and gestures that feel deeply natural yet are entirely synthetic. Inspired by elements such as soil composition, air, humidity, light, temperature, and the chemical properties of both land and aquatic environments and the living creatures that inhabit them, the soundscapes emerge as a kind of sonic biology. The result is a collection of slow-moving, tension-laden compositions that blur the boundaries between physical sensation and abstract design. Biotope unfolds like a closed ecosystem: modular synthesis treated as a breathing entity, shaped by resonance, friction, and organic motion. It embodies a kind of mystical biology, where textures mimic living forms, and frequencies pulse with intent.

This is music to be felt as much as heard, Biotope invites you to listen with your skin, not just your ears.
