January's mix features techno. There's some hypnotic, hard groove, driving, tribal, high energy, and deep stuff in there with a peppering of electro and broken rhythms.

For this month I wanted to focus on the concept of Wabi Sabi, the Japanese idea of embracing imperfection. I think many of us constantly strive for perfection in many facets, whether it be within ourselves or others. I believe it is important to embrace imperfection in our lives and in our music to remember what's important. Life and music are meant to be experienced and enjoyed. The cracks of imperfection are where the roots of growth bury themselves. For this mix I found myself strapped for time and wanted to get a little rambunctious. This mix is full of tracks with genres and tempos that I never play, with weird track structures. I recorded the mix in one take with no preparation. I hope listening to this mix frees you from the shackles of expectation. <3

We are in a constant state of transition. Whether we are traveling between states of mind or traversing the physical realm, we are a collection of each moment. Some pass by inconsequentially, while others will leave a lasting presence that molds our soul. This part of my journey is taking me down a path of intention through personal reflection and reconciliation. This is an hour of music highlighting a more focused sound I am working towards developing. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording.
