The events of recents months and years have revealed how fundamentally unsustainable and unjust the American system is. All around us democracy erodes, authoritarianism creeps and the climate burns. In this divided, damaged time, music has the power to heal, to connect and to nurture growth. 

For Cypher 27 the challenge was to create a song that evokes the powerful amphetamine of Revolution. The songs capture and channel the anguish, frustration, and deep rage of the 21st century into a cathartic release of creativity, and connectivity. 

It is time to build a new politics, a politics of Peace, Justice, and Equality, for the people, for the animals, for the world. Cypher 27 is the soundtrack for this.

As Steven Pressfield writes in his amazing book, “The War of Art,” resistance is the artist’s enemy that shows up each day in a variety of many familiar forms to stop you from creating art. On top of resistance are the many critical voices of self doubt that must be silenced in order to achieve flow and take creative ideas to the finish line. If you are struggling with inner creative battles check out the game changing book, “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield. It helped me to identify resistance in all of its forms and silence the critical voices that derail creative pursuits.
