The virgin idealist bedroom producer is buried, now make way for the 4.0 romantic sound designer! After some appearances on various artists, xl.iks unearths his long-time working debut EP and is ready to win the he@rts all around the world with a stunning piece of corrosive-but-sentimental IDM. Entitled "eoseubnida", this record is the result of all the contradictory passions the Grenoble based producer is crossed by. His bad boy tastes for dark, harsh and noisy stuff coexist in harmony with his emo soul interested in flowers, love and birds. In 5 tracks xl.iks expresses this inner duality : tortured beats are enlightened by mellow synths, outdated video games references are bundled up in HD sound design and the whole piece describes the thin line between reality and virtual world. xl.iks definitely belongs to our hypermodern era except the fact that, facing our uncertain future, he prefers to unsheathe the final fantasy sword of poetry rather than the cyberpunk cynism.

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

"French electronic duo Glass and producer Maoupa Mazzocchetti joined forces for their first collaborative release: 'Y Head', a 9 track album including remixes from Swiss artist NVST and New-York based Morrocan composer Bergsonist. Glass and Maoupa deliver 7 heavy hybrid club bullets where glitchy sound design melts with epic synths and deep basses. The two remixers were invited to cut up and reinterpret the tracks 'Rue des Rosiers' and 'Near Bones'."

Bait's 3rd VEP, Out of Step, looks into industrial, mechanical sounds, some of which almost don’t qualify as “dance” music anymore. ex.sses, lloydfears, Ōtone, VCR and gillielove take you on a march where you feel like you keep tripping up. The sound of glitchy, distorted things, being chopped up or smashed into pieces, this is what unites these 5 tracks in a various almost out of step with the rest of Bait’s releases.

the cover of the mix is a close-up of the painting madeleine la veilleuse (magdelene with a smoking flame). the original artwork would be dated back to 1640. it was attributed by french nationalist art historians to lorraine landlord and painter george la tour, for catholic identification and poverty porn purposes. magdalene is depicted with a rope around her pregnant belly; she simultaneously carries death on her lap. she sits too close to the flame but seems to use the night in her advantage. her role was once to be her mothers' doll, then a man's public trophy and private saviour.
