From December 27, 2023, to January 3, 2024, in Bahia, Brazil, the Universo Paralello Festival unleashed a nine-day musical odyssey that captured the essence of Brazil's Psy-trance scene and cemented its status as a premier global cultural phenomenon. This festival goes beyond the conventional, emerging as a powerhouse of alternative culture in South America and a melting pot of diverse styles and cultures worldwide, all rallying around the ideals of Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.

It’s time for the sixth edition of Mo:Dem Festival and in the year 2017. the biggest novelty is our new concept with three musical stages. Here we present you the sounds of The Hive. In the past editions, this stage was called Main. We consider that today it's totally inappropriate to divide musical genres on 'main' and 'alternative'. However new name doesn't change the fact that The Hive is the nucleus of Mo:Dem Festival. The place where nature, art, creativity, technology and the spirits of the forest meet to create ultimate dance space. The Hive will host a wide range of top quality underground psychedelic artists from around the world delivering some of the finest sounds of the past and present, and showcasing some of the new fresh and unheard sounds of the future. Ruigoord (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrœyxoːrt]) is a village in the Houtrakpolder in the Dutch province of North Holland, situated within the municipality of Amsterdam. Until the 1880s, it was an island in the IJ bay, which turned into a polder. The village is nowadays partially closed in by the Port of Amsterdam, and lies about 8 km east of Haarlem.[1]

In the 1960s the village was evacuated by the municipality of Amsterdam, which intended to extend its harbour, but the plans fell through. In 1972 the village was squatted by a group of artists who planned to make a colony there.[2][3] As such it exists to this day, but it is now legalized. Full moon parties are regularly organised in the formerly Roman Catholic village church and every year there is the Landjuweel (Land Jewel) festival in August.[4]

Since the early 2000s, the village has staged an annual poetry festival over the Whitsun weekend, Vurige tongen (Fiery Tongues). One of the festival's three days is always devoted to international poets. From 2003 on, a yearly Ruigoord Trophy has been awarded to individuals who have selflessly dedicated themselves to maintaining the village as an important cultural stronghold. The first such trophy was presented to Simon Vinkenoog.
