In this era of stem cells and cloning, iPΛT proclaims ownership of himself and his genetic material. This song is partly inspired by Baltimore native Henrietta Lacks, who died of cancer around the 1960's but whose cells demonstrated a peculiar property that resulted in the medical exploitation of her DNA without her consent or compensation to her family. This song also addresses those who have the wealth to exploit people like Henrietta and derides them for their actions. Truly a song with a message, "I Own Me" rides a dubstep-sampled beat called "Technetium" by Reso, and includes original stutter edits and additional instrumentation composed by iPΛT, himself.
