MSOM returns with his second EP ‘Staying Local’, largely inspired by his experience of living in Cliftonville, Margate, which was recently voted the 8th coolest neighbourhood in the world.

Released as a collaboration between Ali Renault’s VIVOD label and DIY label The Fearless Few co-founded by Mikkelsen, the EP features five original tracks and five remixes available on cassette (including download) or as a download only.

PREMIERE: MSOM - Speed Freak (Vivod & The Fearless Few)

A series of cassette variations in the turmoil of the days is opened by a collective improvement of high-class Russian craftsmen — VA Spazio Invasore Vol. 1.
The tape custom is fully equipped with collective images in the spirit of its time. Two sides come together: day and night, light and twilight. The rhythmic in-depth intro sets the pace with a touch of space disco, which is periodically warmed up by retrospective Indian chants.

A more dense continuation falls into the rut of modernity with airy synthesizer additives. As soon as the first side crosses the equator, acid projections mixed with Italian classics and a little whimsical freshness of new disco immediately begin to sound with bright inclusions.
The clever alternate combination of the same elements with the addition of high energy switches to the B side, demonstrating a bold modern look at production. Next, a color of intensity appears with a hint of Depeche Mod and Sovietwave, giving way to trance non-trivial indie dance, and then again going into the mysterious haze of acidity.

With a name like “Le Matin” - French for “the morning” - one could be forgiven for expecting something mellow. Gritty drums are layered over revolving time signatures, taking inspiration from footwork, grime, hip hop and rave. Le Matin celebrates the power of a vocal sample, chopping, reconstructing, looping to infinity and re-emerging with momentary clarity before diving back into disarray. Claiming that “we can change the party”, or “I just took my first shot”, his sense of humour is as strong as his sense of rhythm. Noisy hits pan and shake from one side to the other, turning the body to butter, Le Matin is a master of deranged patterns. Simple yet effective, his latest release is sure to unhinge any joint.

The clock hands crawled slowly around the face; time felt as though it were moving at a snails pace. The wait had been excruciatingly long, with little to do to keep themselves entertained exacerbated by a looming feeling that something could happen at any moment meant they were left on the edges of their seat at all times. Sleep was not an option - they downed coffee as if it were water, widened their eyes as if in a constant state of surprise, pinched themselves when their heads began to loll: they couldn't risk missing the main event.

Dalmata Daniel's split series has so far welcomed the likes of Intergalactic Gary, Pasiphae, Olivia and Rapha to take a side of wax each. For their seventh they've got returning artist Roberto Auser on board alongside Cestrian, the alias of Margate-based producer and DJ Ali Renault. As always the Budapest label have perfectly curated these musical partners, this time giving them a platform to explore eerie EBM, industrial-leaning electronics and raw, machine-driven electro.

The machinery came to a clattering halt, the sheer sound of it forcing the entire building to judder and shake. The factory had seen better days; the brickwork was crumbling away, the smell of dust and oil hung thick in the air and clung to your clothes. It was a wonder it still operated as it did, that it even opened on a daily basis or that it managed to retain enough staff to keeping things ticking over. Slowly but surely its purpose was becoming defunct, but it would cling on to life for as long as humanly possible...

Cyphon Recordings next signing have made a name for themselves under a number of different aliases. The Tijuana-based brother duo have had deep house outings as Soul of Hex and a debut as Mano De Fuego on Underground Resistance, but with this brand new project, Cyborg Nerve, their focus is firmly on electro. Balancing crystallised intergalactic cuts and raw, machine funk grooves, the EP is a triumphant introduction to the newest musical string to the Vicario Musique Recordings bow.

@syzuk self-released his Mindforms mini-LP in 2020, stepping away from the dancefloor to explore an expansive sonic world, ‘balancing the tranquility of the ecological world with the immediacy of the digital one'.

The original release was accompanied by a highly limited run of just 10 dubplates. Deeming this 6-tracker too good not to receive a proper pressing, Control Freak are proud to present the first ever complete vinyl run for Mindforms.

Alongside the record, Syz & Control Freak have curated Clubforms, a collection of remixes from some of our favourite producers, each bringing the original release firmly onto the dancefloor with their own production flourishes. @tammohesselink brings deep, European techno flavours to the slate.

reActive Lab closes the year with a special project from Dragne, one of the artists who has grown alongside the label’s identity and vision. Reboot is a compact EP, yet full of intention, built around a clear concept: reset, re-enter, reconnect. Dragne once again captures the essence of the reActive sound with a clean, rhythmic style, subtly tense and perfectly calibrated, where minimalism meets controlled energy—the hallmark of his work.

The three tracks of the EP form a cohesive narrative that acts as a statement for the end of the year: an opening (Reboot), a transition (Entry), and a stabilization (System). Together, they create an organic, direct atmosphere that stays true to reActive Lab’s DNA. The material is honest, without unnecessary embellishments, letting the groove take center stage, while the sonic architecture remains precise, mature, and evolving.

Reboot marks the final release of the year, closing this chapter with elegance and intention. Yet it also sends a clear message to our audience: a new era is coming.
