Control Freak Recordings is a London based label pushing dancefloor-oriented sounds with a focus on leftfield techno and UK bass. Kincaid’s experimental style which is inspired by global sounds that belong to no specific genre, is steeped in the history of electronic music whilst sounding fresh and relevant to today’s underground clubbing landscape.

This was not one thing or another. The machine was baffled and confused by its perfect array of imperfections which meant it could not be neatly packaged or placed within the categories by which it knew.

See, here was the thing, humans were always wonky. They could not be paired to the constraints of societal brackets, for then there would be little left in the realm of imagination or creative freedom. I was not we - it never had been.

Sparks began to fly as the construct of reality was shattered beneath the weight of its own clumsy foolishness. How had they ever imagined they might get away with it? For they themselves, were wonky after all.

E-Talking is a producer we've followed for years, both independently and as one half of Nummer - the hardware duo who have released music on the likes of Going Good.

E-Talking has appeared independently on the likes of Going Good and AD93 fka Whities. This next EP enters new territories, targeting the club directly with foreboding cuts of electronic music built for the dancefloor.

We’ve spent the days regrouping, realigning and now we finally can release a record that is dear to us and has simply been a ridiculously long time coming. 

The ascension of Viers is well charted, and having already played a part in that indomitable sonic crusade we once again submit to his gripping vibrations as he distils them into safe and consumable formats distinguishable to the human ear. The man is untethered and the tunes are disrespectful. We are unapologetic. 6 tracks and no punches pulled, the bruising of egos and maybe some self-assuredness is at hand. Clemency presents References (Remixed) - three re-interpretations of her debut EP by Perko, Boofy and Jennifer Walton. 

Each remix builds on the sparse dissonant sounds of Clemency’s original production into three heavyweight soundsystem workouts. 

Perko works ‘Testimony’ into a wriggling, hypnotic drum workout; 
Boofy leans into ‘Biblical Names’’ subby rhythmic momentum; 
Jennifer Walton pairs ‘Mimic Animals That Are Easy to Love’s menacing sirens with apocalyptic 303s and unforgiving percussion. 

References was originally released with a collection of Clemency’s own personal references - including poetry, fiction, coordinates and cosmetics - that inspired the record. References (Remixed) comes with new references from each remixer to accompany their interpretations.
