<b>BIOGRAPHY</b> (english)
Metroxylon is a new stage in the music of Barcelona artist Roger Mercader. His relationship with music builds up a long-term musical career, which goes from piano lessons and music theory at 10 and the beginning of do-it-yourself production when contacting for the first time with a personal computer at 12, to several record releases in the house/techno scene along with hundreds of dj sets arround Spain during 8 years.
His 4x4 music basis evolves and adds more flexible sonorities and structures once Metroxylon moves to Berlin in 2008. Due to diverse psychedelic experiences and insights, he looks for deeper meaning in what he does, in order to explore his creativity with no structural or stylistic boundaries.
Metroxylon has found the way to make a creative quantum leap and starting to use his music to a higher purpose. Quoting Bill Hicks "Life is just an illusion and we are the imagination of ourselves". And every illusion needs a good soundtrack.
Metroxylon's first album has been released under Suruba Records indie label and he has remixed Senser's new album track "Hex" and "Miss U" by Don Goliath for Dubstep Division Berlin label. He is also involved in some projects related to audiovisuals and dance: Soundtracks for diverse shortfilms and documentaries and he was part of Instant Delay, a multidisciplinary platform presenting live performances with two videoartists and a dancer at Netaudio Berlin Festival 2009 and Visual Berlin Festival 2010.

Metroxylon has also been involved with cinema and videoart creating soundtracks for catalan directors like Hector Prió or Alex Kozzak. Along with Kozzak they created the experimental short film Sick Howlings from Babylon, which was featured on the International Cinema Festival of Sarajevo and also on the Online Arts Festival.
