In this episode we sit down with Scott Barry Kaufman, one of the most-influential and prolific psychologists working today, to discuss his new book, Transcend: The New Science of Self-Actualization.

Business Insider magazine named Kaufman one of the “50 groundbreaking scientists who are changing the way we see the world,” and you would agree after hanging out with him. In my experience, you feel seen, heard, respected, challenged, and above all, when you leave a conversation with Scott, you do so feeling either like you must work on your purpose in life from that point on, or you must work to find it.

In the show, we discuss our shared desire to bring humanistic psychology back to the forefront and walk through Kaufman’s re-imagining of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and trace Kaufman’s journey through Maslow’s unpublished journals about his unfinished theory of transcendence which Kaufman hopes to complete by picking up where Maslow left off just before his untimely death.

Après avoir dressé un tableau de la question des délais de communication de certaines archives, Hervé Grandjean expose les raisons qui ont amené les pouvoir publics à restreindre cet accès depuis 2011 (6:00), et Thomas Vaisset en décrit les conséquences concrètes sur la recherche historique (10:00), avant qu’Hervé Grandjean n’énonce les modifications récentes dans les procédures de communication (15:00).
Ils envisagent ensuite des alternatives possibles au système actuel (26:00), avant de réfléchir aux échéances et des péremptions du secret défense (36:00) ainsi qu’aux logiques de classification (41:00), avant que Thomas Vaisset et Céline Guyon ne formulent des souhaits sur les procédures qui pourraient être mises en place à l’avenir (50:00).

Few reggae artists stand as tall as Eek-a-Mouse, quite literally. Well past six feet tall, he towers over the reggae scene with his vocal prowess. As an international phenomenon, The Mouse, can be referred to as the originator of sing-jaying. Cementing syllables like “biddy biddy beng” as the catchphrase of the 80’s, he combines singing, deejaying and a oriental sounding weirdness by blending and transforming his voice into its own unique instrument. Although he thematically highlights depressing and violent affairs in some of his lyrics he never fails to deliver a sense of comical irony through his oddball performances.

With her life’s work split between singing, song-writing, record producing, and acting it’s astounding to learn she’s a full time mother who homeschools all of her children. In the past she has faced heavy criticism for some of her thought processes but if anyone takes the time to study her intentions they will see why she is often misunderstood. As an African-American woman who grew up in a time where people of color are taught that they are second-class citizens she has powered through all adversity stating, “I’m for anything that feels right and is in harmony with the universe” and “I will not take back any messages that come from love.”

The “lovers rock” vocalist, Beres Hammond, maintains a cool profile. From afar it might be hard to tell just how extensive his musical career stretches considering his modest appearance and unassuming demeanor. Not only has his humble approach to life earned him a powerful legacy of soulful reggae music but it has also given him the joy of hearing the whole world sing along. In 2013, he was awarded the “Order of Jamaica” by Jamaican government recognizing his exceptional and dedicated contributions to the Jamaican music Industry.
