THEE OBSIDIAN GONG is an improvised drone orchestra featuring a rotating cast of musicians and collaborators. No songs, no scores, no plans.

This is a live recording of the first ever GONG set, featuring Kathleen Baird on flute and breath, Camilla Padgitt-Coles on chunky synths, Ben Seretan on guitar, and Matt Evans on various twinkling things.

There's also a fair amount of audience noise, but for once I think it sounds really good!

Took place at Muchmore's on July 1st, 2014 at a show featuring Pinegrove, Tawny Peaks, and Howth.

The wait is finally over. Starting today, a gradual rollout of the recordings from this year's campout will begin.  First up is the legendary Rich King. On Friday morning, Rich opened Hemlock Hole with a sweeping 3.5 hour set of atmospheric tones and soulful house music.
