Mexican Institute of Sound, the brainchild of Camilo Lara, creates irresistible beats for the global dance floor. At home in Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Lagos, Mumbai or New York, Camilo ́s music is the sound of the new capitals of world culture, thumping into the night. Brash and bright, his live shows can only be described as punk performances that bring down the house every single time. This ethos has taken him around the globe, performing in every single continent. His work has landed him 1 Grammy and 4 Latin Grammy nominations, and he has produced artists ranging from Los Angeles Azules (scoring the best selling Mexican album of the last 25 years, 8 times diamond certified sales), Lila Downs, Norah Jones and Band of Horses. He has remixed Beck, the Beastie Boys, Interpol, among others. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Cuco, Ludmilla, Bonde do Rolé, Sly & Robbie, Toots and the Maytails, Gogol Bordello, Tom Tom Club. CAMILO LARA IS THE MEXICAN INSTITUTE OF SOUND

Mexican Institute of Sound released his debut album Méjico Máxico in 2006. Since then, M.I.S. has released 5 albums: Piñata (2008), Soy Sauce (2010) Poitico (2012) and Disco Popular (2017).

His latest album is called Distrito Federal (2021) and features collaborations with: Dan The Automator (Gorillaz) a Graham Coxon (Blur), Duckwrth, BIA, Cuco and Banda Misteriosa.

His work as producer has landed him 1 Grammy and 8 Latin Grammy nominations. 
	Some of the credits of Camilo as producer includes Band of Horses, Santa Fe Klan, Cuarteto de Nos, Flor de Toloache, Norah Jones & Lila Downs.
	He was the musical consultant and Incidental music responsible for Pixar’s Coco (where he even had a cameo!).
	He has done music for film and tv such as: Netflix Narcos Mexico (Incidental Music), Y Tu Mama Tambien (Score), TNT´s Bronco La Serie (Score) among many others. 
	He has collaborated with artists including Graham Coxon, Bonde do Rolé, Sly & Robbie, Toots and the Maytails, Gogol Bordello, Tricky, Tom Tom Club. 
	He hosts his own radio station on the best selling game of all times, Grand Theft Auto V.

	M.I.S has remixed Beck, Run the Jewels, Morrissey, Placebo, Interpol, Beastie Boys, Madness, Julieta Venegas, Babasonicos, Tony Allen among many others.

	Camilo Lara side projects has been many and diverse; from Morrissey tribute act called Mexrrissey, to a 2016 collaborative album called Compass with 80 artists from 8 different countries.
