hm .. interesting, I make hundreds of similar tests :) ok, discard the ssl4000 you've tried this with Harrison Mixbus + console1? test it!

I loved the last one (class A) the best it had the most pleasing mids which was more pronounced than the others,the instruments were more clearly defined and seemed to have more of their own space in the mix. I also have the Console 1,best thing i've bought that has had the biggest impact to my mixing and betters slate and Nebula for speed and workflow but after hearing the Neve i'm going to get that ASAP. Well done Diametral.

I prefer the 9000 because it's the only one which the low mid is clear and present.  The others seem to add subtle distortion in various frequencies and the mid-low doesn't seem as clear and present as in the 9000 mix.  They all sound pretty good but I feel the 4000 and the Class A add a "harshness" to the mix.  For this style of dance music I think the 9000 is the best, that distortion could be good for other styles of music/dance music though.  Thanks for the comparison! This helps me to decide to go ahead with the 9000.

Really interesting comparison, thanks! I think I like the Class A the most: feels more balanced. But I guess the monitors also play a big part (Focal SM9 with flat EQ here)

Biography: 
Paul Yoon was born in 1980 in Seoul, South Korea. Moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to study abroad and attend high school. He was inspired by the music of Drum'n bass, Trance, and House at the RAVE clubs around LA and started making music in his bedroom. In 2000, he returned to Korea and worked as a producer of progressive trance, tribal house, and electronic music in the underground scene. At the time, there were very few people doing electronic music in Korea, so he was a pioneer. 

For his commercial career, he worked as a major K-Pop producer and in the commercial music industry. In a unique career move, he served as the executive music director for the opening ceremony of F1 2010 KOREA, the first race to be held in Korea in 2010. He also submitted music to gaming companies for 16 years and has had numerous hits and has many fans in East Asia and South America. He has the same way of life since he started music 26 years ago: “I make money from popular music to make art”. 

His name, Deepdrome, reflects the rough and tumble life story he's been living, which is abstracted in the Dub Techno world. Unlike Paul Bazooka's music, which was full of smiles, Deepdrome's music is serious and shows no teeth. He currently resides in Gwangju, a city full of mountains and water, where he draws a lot of musical inspiration from the natural environment.

I’m working with Softubes Console1 for about half a year now and really learned to love it, until now with its basic emulation of the SSL SL4000E console. Last week Softube released a new desk emulation, this time the British Class A, which can be found generally in the rock’n roll genre. Beside there already exist the emulation of the SSL XL9000 console, which convinces by its transparency on the sound. Non of these desks are definitely made for electronic music at all, and that’s a perfect reason for me to use it strictly for this :D … so I just did the mixdown for one of my new tracks three times with all of these three emulations, just to compare the final stage sound and find out the differences and which one works best for my sound … in the end I’d say I will take the path of the XL9000, but also the ClassA gives a really nice crispy touch on the mids, that might be really interesting to dub techno and ambient productions … we’ll hear, here are the results , just build your own opinion ….
