Ultra-bleak version of the hymn "Think of a world without any flowers". I'm not religious, so the God stuff doesn't really mean anything to me, but I started at junior school in 1986 just after Chernobyl blew up and the Cold War was still very much in progress, so the idea of a world without any flowers wasn't as far-fetched as it should have been.
