As I step into fatherhood with the birth of my son earlier this month, I share this opening set that was recorded live at Section 8, Melbourne on a Sunday night back in August 2022. The mix contains some favourite tracks of mine,  both new and old In the lower BPM range of my world psychedelic infused electronic music selections. It’s always magickal overseeing an empty dance floor fill up with groovers and happy faces all round.

Mix #122 – Mihow

Took some time to upload this, but life got in the way (had a child etc) and I forgot about the recordings. I was booked by Sacred Vision records to play my first ever ecstatic dance set, in a very interesting time in Melbourne where people where starting to recover from the effects of prolonged lockdown and orchestrated social division.

Just something I recorded after an immensely emotional trip that's helped me process my last 6 months and remind me to not get so caught up by my ego. Just like life, it gets a bit emotional and a bit wonky at times, but also joyous and groovy :) The beauty of life and interconnection.

Thursday Trip Comedown

This mix is a representation of my latest DJ sound, for those chill spaces in outdoor settings. In the last year or so I've been on hiatus DJing as I was focused on being a new dad, but in that time on many car trips from my country abode I dug into the world of Psydub and explored it's sonic landscape honing in on artists and releases that complimented my taste in organic sounds and fusions of world sounds. 

This mix might also be coinciding with an artist applications for Esoteric 2025 ;)

Koalas are herbivorous animals that can mostly be found in Eucalyptus trees, as well as Acacia, Allocasuarani, Callitris, Leptospermum, Melaleuca, and the dancefloor. Famed for chomping on eucalypt leaves, they're also well known for their love of the boogie, and grooves as crunchy as foliage.

Slowly Episode #11 - Mihou

Meet Mihow: a Polish born, Australien raised sonic alchemist whose journey has spanned the vibrant cities of Melbourne, Amsterdam, and Kuala Lumpur. He has refined a unique taste for down-tempo psychedelic grooves, enriched with cross-cultural, mystical, and esoteric elements. Mihow carefully fuses ancient and modern sounds, crafting an auditory experience that pulses with tribal rhythms, syncopated beats, gnarly bass lines, and glitchy, organic soundscapes.

He honed his skills as a DJ in the bustling nightlife scenes of Kuala Lumpur and Saigon, captivating audiences at renowned venues such as Ren @ Club Kyo, Jiro, Elysium, Pisco Bar, Vitamin D at Bromar, and Arcan. Mihow's return to Melbourne in late 2019 marked a new chapter in his artistic evolution as he delved deeper into music production and began organising events and doofs, with notable performances at Nevedya and Section 8 before entering fatherhood in 2023.

Driven by a deep desire to facilitate the ancient ritual of connection and dance in a post-modern world, Mihow's sets are more than just music—they're a humble yet powerful contribution to elevating collective consciousness.
