Zu elektronischer Musik tanzen ist sie schon immer gern gegangen. Ihre Musik einer fremden Feier-Crowd zu präsentieren, war aber eigentlich nicht der Plan.
 Als Mia Mangata aus diversen Gründen jenem Vergnügen eine Weile nicht mehr nachgehen konnte, wurde die Sehnsucht nach der Musik einfach zu groß und … schwupps, da stand auch schon das erste DJ-Equipment in den eigenen vier Wänden. 🤩
Kaum begonnen (2019), legte die gebürtige Frankfurterin einen echten Kickstart hin: direkt zu Beginn von “Jeden Tag ein Set” gefeatured, ist sie mittlerweile in Clubs wie dem KitKat, dem Ritter Butzke, dem Mensch Meier uvm. bekannt. Auch deutschlandweit sowie in den Niederlanden oder Polen, heizte sie ihrem Publikum bereits mit ihrem energetischen Sound ein. Dabei bewegen sich ihre Sets von Melodic Techno über Indie Dance bis hin zu Progressive House. Seit 2022 gibt es von ihr auch Techno à la 129 - 134 BPM unter dem Namen M² auf die Ohren.

Mia Mangata - Im Waagenbau Orbit - 24-02-23

Mia Mangata entdeckte ihre Liebe für elektronische Musik vor 18 Jahren in Frankfurt am Main. 2016 zog sie nach Berlin und spielte 3 Jahre später ihre ersten Gigs im Nachtleben der Hauptstadt. Kurz darauf folgten die ersten Features von Jeden Tag ein Set. Entstanden in den USA, resonierte der stampfende 4/4-Takt in Deutschland zunächst vor allem zwischen der Mainmetropole und Berlin zu dem Phänomen, zu dem wir heute alle tanzen. Und genau aus dieser Resonanz zieht Mia Mangata ihren treibenden Sound. Mit ihren facettenreichen Sets hat Mia Mangata bereits in verschiedensten Clubs ihre musikalischen Spuren hinterlassen: vom Ritter Butzke, Mensch Meier und KitKatClub in Berlin über den Waagenbau in Hamburg bis hin zum Odonien in Köln. Neben Festivals in Polen und Deutschland war sie außerdem auf dem Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in den Niederlanden zu hören. Mias energetischer Stil reicht von Techno, Progressive House und Indie Dance bis hin zu Melodic Techno. Der findet sich auch in ihrem ersten Track “Irregular” wieder, den sie gemeinsam mit Floordrobe produziert hat. Als M² aka Mia Mangata ist die Berliner Künstlerin vor allem für ihre energetischen Peak Time Techno Sets bekannt.

This set shows a bit of my softer Techno side. This was an opening for a snow-stormy night at VOID Club. I loved digging through some older PsyTech tracks. As you might know from my faster sets I am also into  Psytrance and I feel PsyTech is the perfect mix of both worlds.  
After starting off with my the score of my favorite movie, we move on to some bleepy and then driving PsyTech, followed by rap-blended Peak-Time Techno (love it!)  and then some more classical Peak Time pieces.

Mainly playing Progressive House, Melodic Techno and Techno for the dance floor: That was the world I felt most comfortable in... and suddenly COVID-19 changed everything. The clubs had to close. There were just a few opportunities to play. Kindly, a friend invited me to a bar recently. This was a new situation for me because I couldn't start with more energetic tracks. I first had to see if I could take people on a journey from quieter bar vibes to a more driving sound. I'm glad that the experiment succeeded and thank everyone who made this evening so special!

Mia Mangata delivers energetic peak time techno—switch-up-heavy and relentless between 130 and 145 BPM. Since 2019, she has performed at more than 50 venues and festivals across Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands, including Amsterdam Dance Event, Ritter Butzke, KitKatClub, Mensch Meier, Odonien, Waagenbau, and Die Rakete. This year, she will also play at Rave The Planet. The roots of Mia‘s sound trace back to Frankfurt am Main, where the term “techno” was coined and she first discovered her love for electronic music, before moving to Berlin in 2016 and beginning to fill local dance floors three years later. Today, she channels that journey into powerful techno that balances sustained pressure with unexpected turns: hard, big-room kicks and rolling basslines carry bright melodic hooks and drops that flip from darker tension into high-energy peaks. Behind the decks, Mia goes full throttle, unleashing intense, driving sets built to move.
