Ferreck Dawn's internationally recognised sound returns to Defected with what he describes as an "atmospheric yet very danceable track."

'Better' features vocals from Jena Asciutto, a US vocalist who rose to prominence on national television before signing with leading agency Metatone: "When I first heard Jena's topline I was blown away by it. She has such a great voice and I love the delivery and emotion it has." On creating 'Better' with Ferreck, Jena says that the infectious track "touches on a spectrum of different inspirations. With Summer well and truly underway, Toolroom are set to unveil the hotly anticipated return of renowned Glaswegian artist KC Lights, as he delivers yet another classic record in the making – ‘Better Times’, featuring the stunning voice of Merseyside-hailing Låpsley. A debut collaboration for the pair, as they drop a sun-soaked, cut of Disco infused House that will undoubtedly soundtrack the long summer evenings to come in 2023.

A label favourite in every sense of the word, KC Lights is most-known for his 2020 smash-hit ‘Girl’, a record you couldn’t switch off from throughout that summer, followed up by his classy cut ‘Cold Light’ the following year with reputable vocalist and songwriter Leo Stannard, who also appeared on his summertime anthem ‘Daydreamer’. An absolutely wonderful release by my dear friends Camelphat on one of my indie labels Ambient Wave Records.  This is timeless disco house music and truly is a testament to how good they are as composers and producers.  They have an excellent club sensibility but still retain that soulfulness that gives house music its heritage/value.  This is straight up hands in the air peaktime madness - think Coachella / Pacha Ibiza / Glastonbury style vibes.
