17-Mile Drive was written during a road trip through northern California before the pandemic hit us (summer of 2019).  Yes, via the famous Pacific Coast Highway!  

My dad was the driver, and I was the co-pilot of this awesome adventure (at the time, I was 12 years of age, so could not help him drive the Bixby Creek Bridge; so, I took in the view and its ocean breath…lol). 

When my dad heard our next stop on the GPS, he looked it up in his map… and like seeing a light bulb turn on, he said to me; “…nice, 17-Mile Drive, that sounds like the title for our next hit song…” 
And so there it goes, the rest is history.
  
I believe my dad wrote the lyrics on a napkin or the back of a map that he was using to clean his hands (road trip adventures can get rustic) anyways, he showed me the first verse while eating at “The Bench”, which is a restaurant in Pebble Beach at the 17 Mile Drive location that has a nice patio and an iconic view of the Pacific Ocean. 

The melody and the rest of the verses were completed once we got back to the east coast.   We completed the entire song months after.  At the time, we were both writing other songs, but we both kept talking about the “Lone Cypress” view and all those moments and memories of how we were just planning for a quick drive and end up staying hours, driving in loops, within 17 miles.  

17-Mile Drive is the most beautiful scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula in California, it hugs the Pacific coastline, and we wanted to hug that experience in a song.

Mia's “Labyrinth” touches the characters of the Minotaur and Ariadne from the Greek Mythology from a different angle and a different perspective.

In Mia’s Labyrinth, the Minotaur is seen as a metaphor in comparing the emotions of man and woman.  It touches the concept of the real self and the ideal self.  

The song is a reflection of human emotion when confessing truth; showing vulnerability, honesty and reflections along the way.

Mia Celeste is sharing a song she wrote during virtual learning for her science class on the Big Bang Theory and its three pieces of evidence.  This was her final project assessment presented for this semester’s Physics of Earth and Science. 

Learning goal: Able to cite and explain how cosmic background radiation, redshift of light, and the formation of elements of the universe all contributed to the development and verification of the Big Bang Theory explanation of our universe.
