The city of Miami election for commissioner is November 3rd. Each candidate was asked questions from these 14 possible questions:

1.      Why are you running for this office, and what makes you a better candidate that your eight opponents?
 
2.      How much time would you dedicate to your constituents and your district? Would you seek to represent the entire city or just your district?
 
3.      Can you explain how the CRAs are funded and how they operate? What ideas do you have for how can we better spend the CRA money? Do you believe that as a commissioner you should sit on the CRA board or should you appoint someone to that board other than yourself?
  
4.        Do you support the Beckham group’s soccer stadium proposal for land next to Marlins Park, and the City’s role in the project as described to date? Why or why not?
 
5.         Are there any city charter reforms that you would suggest or support? Please explain.
 
6.         Do you think members of the city police department have violated citizens’ civil rights? What reforms, if any, would you like to see if city police protocols?
 
7.          Do you support the Miami Innovation Tower project? Why or why not?
 
8.          What is your position on expanding gaming policy in the state of Florida, particularly in Miami?  Do you support the Genting plan for a mega-entertainment facility at the site of the Miami Herald building and the Omni?

9.          What are your thoughts about the plans for Port of Miami development?
 
10.         Who are some of your supporters? Can you tell us about some people or organizations that are supporting your campaign?
 
11.           How will you prioritize spending the city’s money (the taxpayers’ money) if you are in office, and what would be your priorities as City of Miami’s District 2 Commissioner?
 
12.          How do you plan to support transportation projects in your district?
          
13.          What amount and what type of collaborative efforts with Miami-Dade County and Miami Beach would you seek?
 
14.           In what direction do you see the city moving?  What is your proposed remedy, if the city is on the wrong track, or your level of support for this direction if you are satisfied with it?
