i'm super excited and happy to release this single that's also part of my upcoming DEBUT EP titled 'Time of Day'!!!

this song was actually super cathartic to write since I've dealt with a lot of isolation and anxiety during this period of my life while making this song. over the past year, I dealt with various mental health episodes that led to multiple falling-outs with people I've met online within the music space. and whenever i look back at my past episodes, i kept asking myself: have i learned anything from my mistakes? why do i keep self-sabotaging myself? do any of these people I've befriended actually care about me? am i ever gonna be good enough? all of these questions kept looping in the back of my mind and rather than self-deprecating even further and keeping these thoughts to myself, i decided to write a song about these thoughts that would come back every once in awhile.
 
i hope this song helps all of you relate to some of the struggles i face on the daily, and that you are not the only person that has these thoughts and struggles. healing takes time and u shouldn't have to beat urself up just because you're not at the 'same level' as someone else when really, we're all trying to live life in our own timeline. it sounds cheesy, i know, but trust me, if i were to be lying, i wouldn't be typing all of this lol.

this track was actually a submission for a remix contest that my good friend @capshun created for his track ‘lotus’ about a month ago. although i didn’t win, i still had fun playing around with this track and tbh, this was kind of a challenge since i don’t rly make remixes that often. 

the kinda sad part about this is that i was gonna retouch the track and make some changes but ur bitch ass forgot to save the project and is stuck with the first draft that was nothing like the final (faster tempo, different key signature) so i had to stick with what i had.

i know there's still a lot of things going on with the world including covid 19 and the blm movement, but i just want to let you guys know that i've been doing whatever i can to be a part of the movement and educating myself on what i can do to use my privilege as a way to help and educate others and to acknowledge and take accountability for my past mistakes.  for the past couple of weeks, i've realized that speaking out is a muscle that i, as well as many people, have always struggled with. although i do have a fair share of being discriminated against due to my sexual orientation and ethnicity, the one thing i will never understand or experienced is being criticized for the color of my skin. it sucks that this privilege even exists and that there is even a system esp in america that put black and brown people in the back burner where they are being put in places they don't deserve to be in. it's my job as a person who has that privilege to really do more when it comes to speaking out against these racial injustices while also be open and willing to learn from my mistakes as well as how i can be a better ally for the blm movement.
