Sometimes you don't get to chose the doors you walk through. Part of maturing is accepting that not all doors bring a welcome change. Today, I stand at one such door knowing that my experience of life is about to change significantly, and there is no silver lining, nor am I entitled to expect one. There will be many more doors like this one waiting for me to arrive.

This piece was written in gratitude like a bittersweet montage to a time passed. Not in sad longing, but in fondness of memories that bring wonder, optimism and simple joy.
