through a sense that’s undefined

The phrase "Every thought is a prayer. Every word is a spell" was the driving creative force behind this track.  Our words and thoughts have power.  Our thoughts have various layers and often manifest themselves in different ways. I aim to make this song have a lasting and haunting impression on you.

All A Prayer

XFRST (Time's Forest) details the theme of grief.  There are many forms of it.  What initially came to mind while writing this was the idea of a place frozen in time that consumes everything.  One of the hardest feelings in the world is getting attached to people and then all of a sudden you become strangers.  I imagined being surrounded by an unforgiving wilderness amongst the fury of nature's creatures.

Growing up I had a rough experience with the church and religious abuse.  For the longest time I felt like I was a defective human being destined for eternal damnation.  The idea of a higher power that does nothing but stalk and judge me started wear me down.  I had so many questions that just lead to dead answers and gate keepers.  Moral of the story is: don't follow anything blindly.  More often than not the demons you fear are just representations of unhealed parts of yourself.

Inexorable

In our world we have so many entities and systems that control us. That in itself can complicate things.  You can convince yourself of anything and most of it comes from a cold and manipulative place.  Half of the thoughts you have are put there by external forces.  Imagine that plus your inner dialogue taking the wheel.  With this track I aimed to grant a space to my neuroses.
