Mixed this using Reaper and NetVSTHost, so the plugins(all the reverbs and the master bus) are running on 3 separate computers, with the master bus going through a windows xp machine w/ UAD cards, the reverbs running on a laptop, and the synth and DAW running on a mini pc. Thankfully NetVSTHost is built on older code so it still supports windows XP so I was able to use my old UAD plugins and get some WARMTH

This song describes a massive land battle between the armies of Ramses iii and a mysterious army of "sea people" who had destroyed everything in their path and marched on the Egyptian kingdom. Egypt would prevail but the effort of the battle and the surrounding chaos foreshadowed their decline.  Lyrics :

the battle begins, the arrows rain down cutting my enemies to shreds
the infantry armed with the knife of Maahes to slay them and sever their heads
the nubian fighters attack showering them with a storm of spears
our charioteers cut through their ranks charging forth without fear
the sea people put up a brave fight in a bloody battle of attrition
at lsat they retreat the legions of apep forever banished to perdition

victorious but joyless,
our kingdom a spent force
the armies of chaos defeated
yet chaos still runs its course

Apep emerges from the shadows
the life blood of the empire stalls
our kingdom contracts and the world turns black
as he slowly tightens his coils

My charioteers are warriors , ready of hand. Their horses were quivering in their every limb,
    ready to crush the nations of Apep under their feet...
    Those who reached my boundary, their seed is destroyed; their heart and soul are finished forever and ever.
