Get Along

Tomorrow, I will no longer be able to take refuge in the place where I spent the majority of my childhood. The walls will be bare, the drawers emptied, the corners cleared from familiar clutter. All that will be left is my most dear friend, naked and stripped. And, when all is done, I will say goodbye to my home. The countless hours spent staring up at the canopy of my oak tree, splashing in my refreshing pool, camping on my luscious grass, and working in my stubborn garden--no hour forgotten but pushed so distant in my memory that they will lose all tangibility. I have accepted that I must leave my home, but I will never lose touch of what it felt like to live here in my palace.
