Clown Shopping

This is a collaboration work created after a request from a wonderful artist called Computart to add percussion and some synth phrases to his song "Procession".
 The song is wonderful, and the bass sound and the exquisite gradation of the drone make the song impressive.
 "Is it okay to add my sound to a song that has been completed at such a high level?" I hesitated a bit (about 20 seconds), but my own curiosity ignited, so I added a lot of sounds and it was done.

We conclude our Summer Series on a hopeful note and a glimpse into the future.  Mankind has finally found that it can accept the differences that divide us, share the bounty between us, and become a vast community governed by faith, hope, and love. How did such a thing come about?  We collectively took a step back from the brink of self-annihilation by realizing "we solve most things if we talk".  
Ironically, this was the most complex song of the five to put together,  We all had an idea of how we wanted it to turn out, and thanks to Seagull and a lot of talking between us behind the scenes, we came to consensus and a final version.  Our little band is proof "we can solve most things if we talk":)  It has been an honor to work with each of you:

'ORACLE' came about because Luiz and I decided to create together something that has a certain 'out there' vibe and to make both oblique and direct references to topical issues. The organ part that Luiz made is based entirely on the binary coding system and follows a path of ascension while my tape part illustrates another, perhaps, contrary path...

When I brought the above file into Ableton, the waveform looked very strange (like a big wedge with spikes on it, starting skinny and widening toward the right) and when I zoomed in there were big empty spaces with a few giant spikes.  The output, as you can see in the track image, was maxed out, even when I turned the track volume all the way down.  

I exported the project and the resulting track sounded like mostly silence with a few blips.  I brought this exported file back into the project so you could see it - it's the middle track in the image.  I also uploaded it here as a private track that you can download: https://on.soundcloud.com/1YMDpVGmeoq7PTdV9

Next, I put a limiter on the original track, turned it down 20dB, and resampled it to a new track so that I could export it.  This current track is the result.  You can download it if you wish and see if you can put it to some use.

Somehow it still sounds somewhat like the original, but with tons of distortion/glitching.  How does this happen?  If you have a theory I'd be happy to hear it.  This is the first time I've encountered anything like this, so it must be somewhat rare.  And if you use this freaky occurrence to make something, let me know so I can hear it and share it.
