The Land of Solitude

Battered, frustrated, and perplexed 
by the vicissitudes of life,
we seek respite, 
we seek tranquillity,
we seek the space to reflect.

Somehow,
in this wilderness,
as streams gurgle through mossy glens,
as winds rustle past rugged stones, 
the burdens lift,
resentment melts away.

Somehow,
in this land of solitude,
we see what truly matters,
we find the strength
to heal,
to draw closure,
and to move on.
