'Voices from the Grave' tells the story of the Northern Ireland Troubles through the unflinching testimony of two men who were on opposite sides of that bloody conflict, the IRA’s Brendan Hughes and the UVF’s David Ervine. Nearly ten years ago they talked to researchers from Boston College with the understanding that the interviews would be not be made public unless the interviewees either gave permission or died. Hughes and Ervine are both dead and this documentary tells the story of their wars in their own voices.

Winner: Best Irish Film: Jameson Dublin international Film Festival.

In Nuala O’Faoláin – A Life and Death her story is told by her friend Marian Finucane, the RTÉ radio presenterto whom Nuala turned when she was dying of cancer. That interview transfixed the Irish public with its frank and unorthodox approach to facing death. 
In this feature documentary Finucane goes behind the dramatic episodes of O’Faoláin’s life to paint a personal picture of a woman struggling without a roadmap and with only her own fierce intelligence to guide her. She was a woman of many contradictions: the enthusiastic heterosexual whose most lasting relationship was with another woman; the feminist who adored a father who abandoned his family and publicly betrayed his wife.

Journey To An Absolute Vantage Point: (Excerpts)

I am based in Dublin and compose mainly for film, TV & media. Over the last few years I have scored many award-winning films such as 'Nuala', 'Voices from the Grave', 'Deep End Dance', and 'Downpour', and almost all of my work has been showcased both nationally and internationally.

I work in many styles including orchestral, electronic, rock, folk, and experimental, and have recorded with many ensembles such as the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dublin Guitar Quartet, and New Dublin Voices. 

Production companies I have worked with include: RTÉ, Accidental Pictures, Wildfire Films, Animo TV, Fastnet Films, Zucca Films, vStream Digital Media, and Black North Animation/Visual FX Studio. I have also collaborated on multiple projects with various independent artists and dance companies such as CoisCéim Dance Theatre and Legitimate Bodies. 

My film-music influences range from the work of Angelo Badalementi, Thomas Newman, and Danny Elfman to Jon Brion, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Cliff Martinez, and Jonny Greenwood. Other musical influences are too numerous to list here but range from The Low Anthem, Bonnie Prince Billy, and Sufjan Stevens, to Igor Stravinsky, Arvo Pärt, Kronos Quartet, Sonic Youth, The Books, Speedy J, Radiohead, and Stars of the Lid. 

For a number of years I played guitar, banjo, and bouzouki with Dublin-based rock band, The Jimmy Cake, my favourite karaoke performance song is Mr. Brownstone by Guns ‘N Roses, and my favourite pop album is a toss-up between Justified, by Justin Timberlake and Off The Wall by Michael Jackson.
