GC001 sees label boss Kortzer put out the inaugural Gritty City release.

The first release is a 4 track orignal EP titled Bryn y Cwm, an ode to Kortzer's late Grandfather Brynley. The ep combines hard 4/4 ravey techno with broken industrial sounds.

Based in the city from the age of 18 Manchester has shaped and influenced the sound Kortzer has developed over the years. First starting out at former venue R-Base moving on to joining the Loose Lips crew cutting teeth at institutions such as Eastern Bloc Records & The White Hotel.

 The aim of Gritty City is to showcase some of the finest emerging artists and unsung hero's who are from or based in the city. Manchester is a melting pot of people, sounds and culture with a thriving techno community that is at its heart for so many which Gritty City strives to represent.

Medellin in Colombia is fast becoming a major destination on the techno scene, with globally renowned events, DJs and artists emerging. Marck D is one such artist that has been flying the flag for this blossoming scene, and his debut EP for EI8HT encapsulates this talented producer’s elemental style.

Four bangers are served up on Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s label and follows up recent releases for labels such as Unity Records, Tronic and Unrilis.  The ‘Sensation’ EP is choc-full of jackin’ and raw techno cuts, fashioned for the dancefloor and delivered with more bounce to the ounce!

Sheehy started his DJ journey back in early 2019, raised in Kildare, he has always been active in the local Dublin techno gigs. joining the @hrla.ie collective over a year ago, he was able to expand and show his creativity on the decks. He gets his inspiration from live performers such as prospa and lady starlight. Sheehy not only is able to satisfy the crowd but also is able to control their movements on the dance floor with wizard-like performances! He has some upcoming tracks to be released and an upcoming local gig announcing soon and most recently has closed bowlane with haventyouheard!

We premiere new grassroots techno from Alan Martin as he presents his debut EP ‘Showdown.’ We showcase the title track as Alan exudes big-room stomping energy through striking dub chords and pounding percussive workouts.

Alan Martin‘s electronic music journey began in 2006 when his father introduced him to Technics SL1200 and records. The youngster soon began experimenting with a ghetto blaster and this turntable and ended up making some decent-sounding mixes, according to YouTube user ‘ellaskins’ aka DJ. Tutor.  Alan later purchased his own set of Gemini turntables before moving into the world of digital some years later.

Outside of DJing Alan began making music in 2009 through FL Studio. Earlier tracks came in the style of hard house and abrasive rhythms associated with the old-school Irish scene. In more recent years Alan house & techno has moved into the world of house & techno taking inspiration from the European scene.

We premiere the slick lead track ‘Showdown’ from Alan’s debut EP as he hones in on the classic 909 & 808 sound, curating a hard-edged and relentless drum workout. Alan continues to push a classic style through the use of Detroit-style dub chords created on a UAD Moog synth. This is a big-room techno bomb cooked to perfection.

liebe digga is an up-and-coming DJ duo from Dortmund.

They both developed their enthusiasm for electronic music in their youth, which evolved into their greatest passion when they joined The Church Club Records together in 2021.
As part of TCCR, they are deeply immersed in the techno scene in NRW and have already been part of many unforgettable events. Since 2023, they have joined forces to shake up the scene behind the decks.
Their diverse sound is characterised by bouncing bass and combines funky and groovy elements with trance and hard techno.
Their bond is reflected in their sets, creating a unique vibe full of energy and love.

House • Techno DJ & Producer | Michael Germano, playing under his long-standing nickname "GERM.", is a true renaissance man of music.

His deep-rooted passion for jazz, classical, disco, psychedelic rock, grunge, and blues has sculpted his approach to playing electronic music.

House music, as the direct descendant of disco, is where GERM found his roots. Later, inspired by his time living amongst the vibrant underground techno scene in Italy.

In his techno sets, this translates into an infectious contrast of a charismatic hard groove style that is counteracted with a darker, abstract hypnotic sound. For house, it’s a decade spanning sonic journey. The goal is to deliver a full-spectrum emotive experience to his audience.
