This Desert Hearts Festival was incredibly special to us for too many reasons to count, but the reason that's always been paramount for us is the amount of love we have for our friends and family that have grown with us along the way. When we approached the decks for our grand finale set on Monday afternoon, it only felt right to invite some of our best friends to play alongside us for our favorite victory lap session. First we grabbed OG DH residents Justin Campbell, Kevin Anderson, Dink! & Tara Brooks to join in. Then we saw Evan Casey & Malcolm Brown dancing in the crowd and waved them onto stage to join the party. Finally, one of our oldest friends and heads of Pile Palace, Iwata, came on stage to say goodbye and we asked him if he had his music on him USBs. His eyes lighting up, we couldn't have dreamed to play such a triumphant, celebratory set alongside all of our favorite people. It was such a special moment and you can listen to it in all it's glory here.

Michael Hartmann, geboren in Kiel, hegte schon immer eine Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik. In den 1990er Jahren stieß er auf die HR 3 Club Night, eine wöchentliche Radiosendung des Senders HR 3, die samstags ausgestrahlt wurde. Der einzigartige Mix aus House, Trance und Techno, bekannt als der "Sound Of Frankfurt", faszinierte Hartmann von Anfang an.

Durch die Inspiration der HR 3 Club Night und Live-Auftritte von Künstlern wie Sven Väth und Pascal Feos erwuchs in ihm der Wunsch, selbst als DJ aktiv zu werden. Im Jahr 1998 war es schließlich soweit, und er begann intensiv mit Plattenspielern und einem Mischpult zu üben.

Nach ersten Auftritten bei privaten Partys folgte 1999 sein erster offizieller Gig im angesagten Underground Club "Die Tanzdiele". Es ergaben sich weitere Auftritte in verschiedenen Städten wie Kiel (Traumfabrik, Pumpe, Ostsee Terminal, Räucherei, Schützenpark Bunker, BAM, Rathaus Bunker, Schweden Terminal), Heide (Roadhouse), Rendsburg (Trace), Hamburg (Astoria Bar, Pentagon sowie das BKI, wo er lange Zeit als Resident DJ tätig war) und auch Flensburg (Bunker, Speicher).

Im Laufe der Jahre entwickelte Hartmann seinen musikalischen Stil weiter und bewegt sich heute zwischen House, Tech-House, Techno und Trance. Sein Motto lautet: "Hauptsache tanzbar - alles kann, nichts muss!"

Neben seinen Auftritten in Clubs war er auch Teil des Bachblyten Festival, das in Boksee sowie am Flughafen Schwesing bei Husum stattfand.
