Hive is a body of work that could only have been made by a band that has spent over a decade developing together. 8 songs of metallic future and cold heavy. We once described their music as 'transformers fucking to dub', and this is them doing it out in the open on barren land and it is beautiful.

The Naturals - Cold People

For this release, that coincidentally came out on  Record Store Day 2016, I spent about 3 months downloading as many of the thousands of songs released on Record Store Day 2015. I think I managed to find about 85% of them and it almost killed me. I may as well have stabbed myself in the ears and eyes with a spike of frozen shit.

I then made 'slabs' of noise by layering about 100 songs at a time on top of each other on Garage Band, creating 100 or so of these 4-5 minute slabs of dirge before sending them to Harry Wright (Naturals/Giant Swan) to try and make a song out of them all. 

Predictably, he came back with something really excellent, and then I probably went and ruined it by using the Cut Up Technique, going through all of the names of the releases and cutting words at random, forming them into some kind of gibberish that I whispered over the track.

Whoever bought the 7" also received our full back catalogue.

Thought I'd put it up today as it is the final day of our 5th Birthday Week, and seems like a good time to let people know just how stupid we (well, me) really are.
