Turbo Recordings is thrilled to add Lithuania’s Roe Deers to our ever-growing yet mercilessly exclusive stable of young dance talent. While we have yet to meet Deers in real life, our thorough scouring of his hard drive has made us feel that he’s a perfect addition to the Turbo family. He’s put out releases on our friends’ labels, including Omnidisc, Duro, and Nein, all of which is a roundabout way of us letting you know we have so many friends. He’s also hot off a remix on legendary Turbo A&R man Thomas Von Party’s excellent new Party Central label. In addition, Deers is a regular DJ at Opium Club in Vilnius, one of our favorite venues in the world despite its scandalous name. In 1881, the British Medical Association denounced opium eaters as “immoral and perfidious foozlers who are not up to dick by any reasonable estimation,” and we would probably have to agree with that, given the available science.

No one would deny the Rolling Stones’ Voodoo Lounge was the sound of the 90s, and we feel that title track “Voodoo Gym" is poised to have a similar impact over the coming decade. It takes megalith-sized balls to invoke the occult, and this tribal-infused bomb backs up those balls and then some. “Bottom Monster” conjures all the raw sexual menace of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, or even Frankenstein, while “Jackpot in Space” jacks and teases for what feels like and is several minutes before erupting in a geyser of sweat and quarters. Finally, Star Wars creator Joseph Campbell once said that, “Shakespeare said that art is a mirror,” and closer “Moody Express,” which Deers describes as “passive-aggressive, sneaky, and sleazy,” may help some of you come to terms with the kind of person you’ve become.

After Flori’s excellent ‘Within Reason’ EP secretsundaze release their second EP of the year with Galway based John Daly and ‘Everlasting’. John has been plying his trade for many years now releasing numerous quality tracks across labels such as Mule Music, International Feel, TAANSTAFL,and of course secretsundaze with ‘One More City’ last year. ‘Everlasting’ finds John in exceptional form. An epic 9 minute workout starts with fizzing hats and some magic keys before developing into a fluid, free flowing deep house/techno hybrid of the highest order. This is no peak time banger but a track for special moments. Coming at you a little bit like a jam between Larry Heard and Mathew Johnson we hope you like this as much as we do.

On the remix we have drafted in one of techno’s brightest hopes Marcelus form France. Best known for his work on Deeply Rooted, Tresor and his own Singular imprint he takes ‘Everlasting’ into wonderfully deep, bubbling and aquatic techno territory. Don’t be fooled though as Marcelus can’t quite hide his tougher techno roots as the kick drum suddenly doubles up giving the track a raw potency when you least expect it.

Another secretsundaze gem with John Daly and Marcelus proving to be a deadly pairing for those that like their techno music a little more cerebral.

The twist of a car key in the ignition outside stirred her slightly, unsettling her sleep until dawn broke. She awoke feeling as though she'd barely slept a wink, simply writhed around for the last few hours with her eyes closed. But something didn't feel right, something felt out of place or amiss... He hadn't come home last night. Suddenly fear took hold, stiffening her body and forcing her mouth to turn dry. She looked out of the window down at the empty drive and remembered the sound that stirred her just hours earlier. She hoped he hadn't gone too far... 

Following releases on the likes of Valby Rotary and Shadow City, for the first time London-based producer Jeigo takes his meticulously crafted productions to Catz 'N Dogz Pets Recordings. Like his previous outings, We Are Not Nothing showcases Jeigo's deftness at sound design; over the four tracks he journeys through intricate rhythms and motifs, lacing each one with varying moods and emotions.
