Chain of Fools

Releasing my debut album has been one of my most meaningful life-experiences, and apart from the times playing my livesets, I seem to never have found a right moment to share it personally with the world. Today it has been exactly one year since the release-date, so this should be a good moment.

"Kindred Phenomena marks Mattheis' debut album. After two cosmic EPs on Nous'klaer and a mini-album on tape for Ecstatic Recordings, he now returns to Nous'klaer for his first full story. An album shaped for every occasion: driving from the city to the island, dancing in the living room, or raving at sunset. On Kindred Phenomena Mattheis picks up where he left off: 'Swell' serves as another episode of the prisms, the modular synth excursion of 'Bit Fragments' pushes his arpeggiator solos a step further, and album standout 'Ben_M' provides his most beautiful dance of melodies yet. The album consists of eight tracks and comes as a double 12 inch for deejay convenience; and for the ultimate experience: go see Mattheis perform his album live on the road."

Der Norddeutsche Rundfunk (NDR) übernimmt das Programm montags bis freitags von 16:00 bis 21:00 Uhr auf NDR Info Spezial, welches über DAB+, DVB-S und im Internet als Livestream gesendet wird.

Scratch Massive return to their bORDEL Records imprint with an enlightening single entitled ‘Numero 6’ featuring vocals from Toby Ernest and remixes from Skinnerbox and Catnapp.

bORDEL Records is run by French producers Maud Geffray & Sebastien Chenut aka Scratch Massive with the Los Angeles based record label’s previous releases from Torb, Turbotito, DA and the duo themselves receiving support from the likes of Psychemagik, SONNS, Perel and many more. ‘Numero 6’ sees bORDEL invite the Monkeytown Records producer Catnapp and the Berlin duo Skinnerbox who have releases on Fantome de Nuit, Tonkind and My Favorite Robot Records for remix duties.

‘Numero 6 is inspired by a night in Los Angeles: ‘At night we flew over the hypnotic lights of Los Angeles that sparkled and electrified the darkness. Alice McMunn, legendary pole dancer and renowned tattoo artist opens the doors for the night. A flamboyant character, punk icon and muse of famous vegan makeup artist Kat Von D, Alice dances and sucks you into her trance’. ‘Scratch Massive

‘Numero 6’ from Scratch Massive’s latest dreamy album, ‘Garden of Love’ has an infectious energy from the start fusing Toby Ernest’s dreamy vocals, alleviating synth work and elegant, cosmic sound design. Skinnerbox’s remix throws down eccentric synth sequences, fluttering oscillations and effervescent rhythms keeping the energy flowing throughout.

Catnapp’s remix then offers up a dramatic ambient rework fusing sparse pads, atmospheric waves and tranquilising moods before the extended version of ‘Numero 6’ finishes things off with compelling emotively that maintains the otherworldly aesthetics from the original.
