I originally started working on this midi mockup of "Adventures on Earth from E.T." by John Williams from around the 4 minute mark, but then I went back to the beginning of the orchestral score to complete the piece.
 My tempos in the 2nd half of the score fall a bit more inline with the Film soundtrack rather than some of the separate concert recordings that are available. 
I used mostly Spitfire and Cinesamples virtual instrument libraries for this mockup.  All done in Cakewalk Sonar DAW.  Thanks for listening.

Adventures on Earth from "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" Midi Mockup

Some of my favorite music written by John Williams for the film 'Hook' is is in the cue on the soundtrack called 'Remembering Childhood'.  So I was delighted when I learned that the Hal Leonard printed concert arrangement of the score contained a good portion of this music as well as the End Credits sequence. 

Like my E.T. mockup, I used the Boston Pops recording as my baseline that John Williams conducted I think in '93.

For my mockup, my main libraries are a combination of Spitfire Symphonic strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.   All done in Cakewalk Sonar.

The Flight to Neverland from 'Hook' - Midi Mockup - John Williams

Reverb reduced in this track compared to the original I had uploaded.   Most instruments are set to the default tree mics.  I only extended the reverb tail slightly on the final crescendo as I felt it needed it.

Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C♯ minor, Op. 3, No. 2, is one of the composer's most famous compositions.  Here I am (attempting) to give it some justice playing it through Pianoteq on the Steingraeber Model E272 Grand Piano preset.  Some altiverb behind the scenes for tweaking.  Hope you enjoy!

Rachmaninoff- Prelude in C Sharp Minor

Chopin's Prelude No. 9 in E Major.  Although it is only 12measures long, this piece showcases Chopin's elegant use of common chord modulations, 3rd based root movements, and dense harmonic textures.

Here I am playing this with PianoTeq and using a custom Yamaha C5 Grand piano.

There is an overall bittersweet sense of sadness and in Liszt's Consolation No. 3 in D flat major. Believed to be a tribute to his friend and composer Chopin who passed away the year before this was published.  Here is my take on it. Enjoy.
