Guest DJ Michael Bhatch of Cape Town take us into Hidden Years Music Archive Project at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. 

Rare township jazz, maskanda, urban folk, traditional music (and so much more) that was recorded by sound engineer David Marks from the 1976s to 2000s. Not only was Marks a digger of music, he literally worked in the mines of the Free State of South Africa in the 1960s. 

Michael Bhatch is a lecturer at the University of Western Cape, and his PhD work focused on Afrofuturism. Check out more from him on Mixcloud.
