This is the first movement of a work in progress for saxophone sextet called Dark Corners where each movement portrays a different supernatural creature. Kitsune is fox in Japanese and foxes in Yokai folklore have the power to shape shift. They could be tricksters, not to be trusted, or guardians or lovers when in human form, and they posses magical power. This magic peaks at 1000 years of age when it reaches infinite wisdom and the Kitsune will ascend to the heavens. This piece is divided into four sections with repeating motifs and stays in the Japanese Hirajoshi scale. The first section is called Magic, the second is called trickster, followed by Wisdom. Lastly is the Final Form Section; the music also modulates to "A" Hirajoshi from "E" Hirajoshi to give the feeling of ascension. I expect to complete the whole work later this year.

Morning Dew, Sunrise, And Gentle Breezes

World Premier of "Moonlit Night" by the wind ensemble at The University of Texas at San Antonio which features student composers and guest composers annually. My piece moonlit night paints a setting, serenade, fantasy on themes, and dawn based on the three note motif of D, Eb, and G across many different key areas.
