"Smile" started life as the music  written by Charlie Chaplin for his movie, Modern Times (1936). He even orchestrated it. Amazing that Chaplin had so much talent in addition to comic genius. The song lyrics were added in 1954 and first sung by Nat King Cole. This take on it somehow reflects the movie music more than jazz really, but I guess it counts as jazz. It just counts as timeless song really. I love it. Hope my take on it is worth listening to.
