Shapenote singing is a tradition developed in the late 1700's and early 1800's that helped everyday people sing music even if they couldn't sight-read standard musical notation. Shapenote and the Sacred Harp songbook are still allowing people to share a musical experience until this day. 54: Shapenote

Martha Lee Bohacz, my mother, told me she wrote this country gospel song sometime in the 1960s. She performed it many times live at her church, Emmanuel Bible Church in Berwyn, Illinois, plus other places. She often performed with my dad Emilian Anthony Bohacz and their band "Gospel Truth Singers." Dad played harmonica in the band but not on this recording. I uploaded her track to my SoundCloud account because she didn't have an account of her own.
