With “Your My Wonderful,” Michael Behm delivers again. He has earned an international reputation as a pure pop singer/songwriter par excellence, and this dazzling new single ups the ante. A slice of pop nirvana, it features a melody you just can’t or won’t want to shake, and a clear and compelling message.

To Behm, the language of love is “very basic. Be clear in your mind about the type of experience you want to have with a person, and all your actions line up with that intention. ‘Your My Wonderful’ is about the simplicity of love.” With the perfect precision of a Japanese haiku, Behm makes his point in just 3 minute and 40 seconds. 
“The optimum length is the one the song needs in order to convey the necessary energy,” he explains.

Behm’s track “It’s My Time” is featured on the 2009 season of American Idol.  Closer to home, B.C. adult contemporary radio station 99.7 The River is using Behm’s “Take Me Down To The River” as its theme song, while Vancouver’s Rock 101 selected another Behm original as the theme for its popular Bro Jake Show.

Michael Behm is a recording artist that defies convention, which is quite rare in the cookie cutter and “try hard” world of original music today. In an effort to really stand out from the crowd an artist needs to embrace his inner voice to maintain credibility amongst his loyal fans. To this end the good times are rolling for Michael Behm as a few short months after releasing “Saving America,” the first single off his forthcoming album of the same name really impacted to a broad-spectrum audience. One major cause of celebration for the singer-songwriter and concerned citizen: Barak Obama has been elected to the White House and Americans have begun the job of saving their own bacon following eight years of the Bush presidency.
 
On a personal level, Behm is absolutely pumped over the response to the meticulously crafted “Saving America” – a stirring, guitar-fuelled call for change, renewed optimism and fresh hope from a Canadian to his friends and neighbours south of the border.
 
Positive fan response from, on-line streaming via services like Australia’s mp3.com and Reverb Nation Canada where “Saving America” has been at No 1 for three months.
Receiving 270,693 plays in one month on numberonemusic.com Behm tracks have received a rush of adds from U.S. community radio stations are building momentum for a melodic original bristling with memorable hooks and a historic sample from one of John F. Kennedy landmark speeches.
 
Radio promotion by Plug Music in Canada and the Sutton Music Group in the U.S. has produced spins and chart ranking. The latest reports reveal that stations in St. Louis, Olympia and Tucson, among others, are playing the song. GK Radio Europe has also added Behm’s music in recent weeks. The artist has tasted success over the years as a solo act and bandleader, most recently with the 2007 single “The Art of Letting Go.”
 
Working in his state-of-the-art home studio on Vancouver Island off Canada’s west coast, Behm sang, played guitar, produced and handled the multi-tracked instrumentation on the Saving America album. The drummer for the sessions was Pat Steward (The New Odds, Bryan Adams).
 
“Saving America” was mixed in Vancouver by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Elvis Costello, Metallica, Sam Roberts) and mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles by the legendary Brian “Big Bass” Gardner. The latter has put the final touch on classics by Blondie, the Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas and Blink 182, and that’s just a few of the Bs on an awe-inspiring list of A to Z credits.
 
Other irons are burning bright for Behm this year. His U.S. publisher’s Rumblefish, Scorekeeper and Defacto Music are actively promoting and exposing his deep catalogue of song titles in America. His bluesy original “Take Me Down to the River” is now the theme for Campbell River, B.C. adult contemporary radio station 99.7 The River. And Vancouver’s Rock 101 has selected a Behm original as the theme for the Bro Jake Show, the popular morning show hosted by Canadian DJ legend Jake Edwards. Michael is finishing up a new track for and up and coming animated Disney movie entitled, “Not Another Fairytale” while producing projects for Astral Records and DEAD Famous International in Australia. Summer 2009 brings the release of  “If I Could Learn To Fly” the new single to commercial radio in Australia.

A genuine music industry renaissance man, Michael Behm is a producer’s producer. Having achieved success in many diverse areas of the business he is now based between Nicaragua and Vancouver. In his diverse and extensive career, Behm has run successful live venues in Canada and the Caribbean, founded one of Canada’s most profitable sound companies and his Michael Behm Publishing has promoted concerts by such acts as Nickelback, Nazareth, Big Wreck, Trooper, Chilliwack, Kim Mitchell, The Head Pins, Harlequin, Prism and Big Sugar as well as hosted international recording artists, writers and session players in his and others studios.
Releasing a series of critically-acclaimed albums under his own name, Behm is a highly prolific writer and producer of music. His compositions range from instrumental tracks for use in film and television to songs that are being used by artists in a multitude of genres including country, hard rock, r 'n b, pop and dance which can be heard daily on outlets ranging from The Speed and The Food Networks to Discovery and MTV (UK). They have also been licensed in large numbers to MTV and Comcast (a major producer of U.S. TV shows), and his songs have been placed on many shows that include Let’s Make A Deal, American Idol, Jersey Shores, Mob Wife’s of Chicago, Teen Cribs, American Hot Rod, Married To Jonas, The Young and the Restless, Auction Kings, 16 and Pregnant. Behm tracks have received almost 300 placements in TV shows in recent years.
Michael Behm has also earned an international Youtube following with his songs receiving a phenomenal online exposure of 50 Million views.
Michael Behm was nominated for songwriter of the year by Socan and the BCCMAs.
He has co-written many songs with such legendary Nashville writers as Pamela Oland, (Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin) and Ralph Murphy. Behm's current collaborators include, Darude; Risto; Star Labs Sweden; Russian based Dimitry; Larry Wayne Clarke (they've written a song for American Idol star Scotty McCreery) and young Vancouver writer Kate Morgan. One of Michael's most fruitful creative partnerships has been with British guitar hero Steve Morris. A member of The Ian Gillan Band, Morris has written extensively with former Deep Purple singer Gillan. Over the past three years, the Morris and Behm team have created over 150 tracks for other artists and for film and television soundtracks.
Through his extensive recording background, Behm has developed a very strong sense of what makes a song great. "One thing I've learned producing is that without a compelling vocal and groove a song will never be much of anything. When a song has emotional meaning that people can connect with, that is always a good foundation. I want the songs I work on to be epic, to have emotional high water marks. I use a lot of different instruments in my productions, from full orchestra with violins and cellos through to ebo, ukulele and bongos. Using whatever instrument and sound that will best serve the song is paramount to creating music that will be remembered."
Behm is truly international in his vision. He regularly works in studios in Nashville, Los Angeles and Vancouver at Blackbird, Oceanway studios, and (Bryan Adams' The Warehouse Studios, and The Armoury (the facility started by Bruce Fairbairn), as well as his own well-equipped San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua based studio.
