Actor, Robert Downey Jr. provided the first burst of inspiration from this song:
He was asked by an interviewer about his addiction: Downey said, and I only paraphrase, "If you ask an addict how they're doing? and they respond, "I'm all right", that means they are not all right. They need help.

I've been dealing with a family member fighting addiction for years.

This song was featured a few times in the long, running hit TV show on the WB, "DAWSON'S CREEK" featuring Katie Holmes and James Van Der Beek

I wrote this song for the yet-to-be released, indie movie KARAOKE MAN-A fun, quirky, romantic comedy starring Brian Dietzen (NCSI) Caitlin Crosby, James Denton (Desperate Housewives) Marc Evan Jackson, Pavesh Cheena, J Claude Deering, Daniel Quinn, Spencer Locke, Bug Hall, Kathryn Gordon...

Here’s the dialogue from the upcoming Indie Film KARAOKE MAN, written by Mike Petty & Kevin Guzowski—which inspired this song. The song now rolls over the opening and closing credits of the film in two different recorded versions: 

(BRIAN DIETZEN) playing the character Louis: 
(MARK EVAN JACKSON) playing the character Marble:
