"yeah yeah" began as a commitment to write a song first thing in the morning. I had the Camptown Races melody stuck in my head, so rather than bat it away, I leaned into it. I played it into a looping pedal on electric guitar and proceeded to add layers until the melody was unrecognizable. I took out the Camptown Races melody and there it was, a new idea from an old one. After adding percussive samples taken from my dryer, I wrote the melody and lyrics. It was my first attempt at writing a song about sex. I wanted to harness those feelings of seeing someone new and falling for them, the rush of nerves and sexual tension, the warmth of lying together naked, the natural rhythms of sex. It was tricky to write. It couldn't be too descriptive or vague. I think I pulled it off.
