A very simple and short part of a trio sonata for Musette de cour and Vielle à roue that i am currently writing. As i don't have the musette or vielle in my instrument arsenal yet, i had to play the violin instead.

Jag Såg Dig

Written by Johann Hieronymus Kapsberger (c.1580-1651), this Canarios  melody is a movement from his "Libro quarto d’intavolatura di Chitarrone" (1640). It is (very) freely interpreted and arranged by me. I also play all the instruments which consists of baroque guitar, baroque violin, cembalo, pandeiro, double bass, jew's harp and indian bansuri flute.

Kapsberger: Canario

Something i composed a few months ago inspired by the concept of my future love's identity not being known to me at this time, yet is still out there creating memories i'll hear about when we meet. 

A lake deeply clad in dark marine hue, shrouded in mysterious vail and at last illuminated by silvery dim moonlight; so shall my true love like the night-bird, by sweet notes outringeth her presence and stand before me like lightning to mine eyes.

Solas Na Gealaí

My arrangement of a lovely tune from the renaissance. It is a celebration of springtime. On this, I play violin and baroque guitar. Like almost everything else I've done, this is recorded in my living room :)

As I Me Walked

My own re-written arrangement of Matteis wonderful Giga, Al Genio Turchesco. For me, it captures the busy nightlife of 1660-1670's London, where taverns were filled with upbeat music and dance and people from all social classes were finding a happy and needed escape from personal worries and city-wide traumas like the plague and the Great Fire. On this one, I play violin, baroque guitar, cembalo, chamber organ and percussion.

Giga, Al Genio Turchesco - Nicola Matteis

A collection of different themes tied together. Basically trying different ideas without asserting a general theme over the composition as a whole. Quite shoddy mixing as my old recording rig simply cannot deal with huge, full-size orchestrations of this scale, so I was lucky I was able to get anything out of it at all to be honest. I will try to take the stems to another rig and mix it properly when time allows, as I think it deserves proper auditive presentation.

Ideas 2018

Två låtar jag hörde från Linköpings Folkmusikfestival som inspirerade mig så väldigt att jag kände mig tvungen att spela inn min egen version.

Trip To Austin/Prelude Polka

Rino Eriksen på Irländsk tvärrflöjt och jag på cittern spelar här ett härligt Irländskt set.

Old Maid of Galway/The Green Mountain

En kort grej jag komponerade och spelade in lite snabbt för en stund sen. Försökte fånga  den klassiska rika elitens kynisme och försökte främställa deras pompösa verklighet och det lite mörkare som ofta finns bakom kulliserna.

The Aristocrats

Kanske första stycket jag någonsin gjorde i filmmusik-stil. 

Crossing The Plains

Ett stycke där jag spelar en massa perc och xylofoner och även testade att spela in vanliga trummor för att se om det passade in, och det tycker jag det gjorde faktiskt. 

Into The Sunset

An evolving piece i wrote and recorded. It starts of with an epic, hard-hitting beginning, wich quicly evolves into a calm piano part, with is followed by a playful love-theme, which is then followed by the "main theme" and ends in an epic version of the same theme.

The Battle - Ireland's Theme

En Grateful Dead/Hellbillies-låt vi spelade in för att göra vår egen version.
