Last friday I had the chance to play my first gig in five years. For the occasion, I met up with my friend Edward X and we took over The Sanctuary in Montreal. A private studio that once belonged to my late friend Angel Moraes who built the most exquisite sound system for that room. I had the chance to play 4 hours to a select few of my friends, starting off the night with slow deep tech and building it into a groovy party.

First time playing an entire set on my Ecler Warm2 rotary mixer and I gotta say I loved the feel of the knobs as well as having a dedicated isolator on the master channel. I also brought back my F1 controller which was remapped to control Traktor effects.

303 Invisible Wind Factory (Vinyl) April 2023

During Covid ex-Pat San Francisco female DJ, Trini Allwood, began streaming her set from the Rising Sun club in Yokohama, Japan. Completely alone in the club she live streamed her set across the world on the internet. She was mixing the work of minimalist composers Phillip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley with 1970's disco grooves. Eventually the tracks began to add a lush synth sound and a mesmeric, trance like music evolved for the lone dancers across the planet, usually accompanied bt the use of drugs like ecstacy. This music bacame known as "BlissTrip" .Trini unfortunately died in a car accident in 2024 but David Taylor Hughes has remixed and reimagined much of her most popular work in a Blisstrip revival. All compositions created, played, recorded and mixed by David Taylor Hughes and Trini Allwood.
