The instrument is a Clavia Nord Stage 2, using a sampled Fender Rhodes Mark I electric piano, a high-pitched sampled Fender jazz bass guitar, a sampled CS-80 synth, and some delay and reverb. I'm using room mics as I find some of the noises such as breathing or pedal can actually be quite nice.

Étude in D-Sharp minor, Op. 8 No. 12 is an étude for piano composed by Alexander Scriabin in 1894. It features many technical challenges, including numerous jumps in the left hand, repetitive chord strikes, and abundant octaves. It is a particular favourite among pianists and audiences alike. One of his earlier Études, written when Scriabin was around the age of 23 the strong influence of Chopin on his early musical language can be heard quite clearly here - the rhythmical figure of the theme is seemingly a reference to the Chopin Étude of the same number (i.e. the Revolutionary Étude). Yet, even amongst all of the "Chopin" flavours heavy Russian influence which is distinctively Scriabin. There has been somewhat of a Scriabin revival over the last few decades, and appreciation for his musical output has been growing - something he truly deserves given this statement made about him: "No one was more famous during their lifetime, and few were more quickly ignored after death." The only reason I have uploaded is because there are no existing uploads of the performance and Rousseau himself has yet to upload this piece to one of his music websites, whether it be Spotify, SoundCloud or Apple Music.
