Brighton-based electronic pop duo Sock Drawer return with “Bored” a woozy, slow-burning dream-pop track set in a parallel universe where they’re rich, famous, and finally on tour. In reality? They’re just... bored.

One of the earliest tracks written for their upcoming debut album, “Bored” began as a stripped-back acoustic tune—a half-baked escape plan rooted in a fantasy trip to Amsterdam. That trip never happened, but the daydream stuck. Over time, the song grew into a layered, sample-heavy voyage through inertia and imagination. Guitars pulse with restless energy, drum loops stutter and swirl, and the final section bursts into a euphoric 4-to-the-floor outro—a pop-fuelled hallucination of a tour that never was.

Vocalist Ebony Grace reflects on being a tourist in your own life adrift, daydreaming, and disconnected. “‘Bored’ is set in a kind of parallel universe—by the end of the track, we’re on tour and rich and famous. But really, we’re just daydreaming on the sofa,” she says.

It’s escapism disguised as a pop song—or maybe the other way around.

This song explores the emotional fallout of a toxic relationship, where love turns to blame, miscommunication, and emotional neglect. With raw honesty and vivid metaphor, it captures the pain of growing apart, the struggle to repair what's broken, and the difficult choice to love yourself instead of staying lost in someone else.

A song we recorded back in April 2024 about how we talk about all the things that are wrong but it doesn’t make a difference.
Great Britain is broken at the moment and seriously needs fixing but know one seems to know how.
A new government has appeared to make it worse yet told us we can sort this.
The poorest are getting poorer and the richest are getting richer. The world will never be equal but when a country of our wealth is struggling we know something is wrong. 
Working families can’t pay the basics bills or put food on the table because prices have gone through the roof.
We pump chemical factory waste directly into our rivers because someone’s getting an handout somewhere along the line. Meanwhile the wildlife dies and can’t recover. 
Our incredible NHS system is on its knees & so under funded with record waiting lists for every treatment.
Wars in other countries that have a massive effect on our Country. 
We talk about all these things bringing them in with talking about the weather, football scores & VAR. 
It would just be nice to talk about the good things that make life worth living instead of doom & gloom.
