Michael Freund is a writer and ordained rabbi. He supports his community through his writings and advocacy efforts. He is a correspondent and columnist for the Jerusalem Post, and he has five sons in whom he’s instilled the importance of community. He is the co-author of two books and founder of Shavei Israel.

Michael Freund was born and raised in New York. He received his MBA at Columbia University, and he has co-authored two books including A Drop in the Ocean: A Daily Dose of the Land of Israel. He moved to Israel where he’s lived for the past 25 years and served as Deputy Communications Director in the Israeli Prime Minister’s office. He is the founder and chairman of Shavei Israel.
