Rocko Schamoni - Der Mond (Lambert Rework)

This album is the manifestation of years of pain, internal suffering, and loneliness.  The emotions never spoken, but seeped into the very core of everything I ever touched.  The loss of my father, the devastating breakup that followed shortly after, the feeling of guilt as if it was all somehow my fault, and yet a glimmer of hope shine through to show the new life I breathed into the world...the beauty and optimism that were born from the ashes of the hollow shell of who I used to be.  I came to terms with loss, grief, and death, we shook hands and made our peace, and now I'm at ease...staring into the eternal abyss and concluding that the only certainty in life...is death.  To pray for anything beyond that is to pray for control over one's existence and eternal well-being which is something we simply will never have.  Sometimes it's nice to recognize your inability to have control...nothingness becomes holy...and you know that Forever Isn't for Everyone!

Back in 2007 I lost the most amazing person I've ever met to suicide.

she was so musically talented with her guitar, it's one of the reasons I got involved in music, she taught me so much.. I can remember her singing to me before my tired eyes fell asleep because I never wanted to lay my eyes off her, she kept telling me everything was going to be okay but I knew something was wrong, you can only help someone so much, from this day I will always miss her more than anything in the world and she will forever be the light of my life.

Apparat, aka Sascha Ring, will release “Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre)”, an album of music based on Sebastian Hartmann’s theatre production of Tolstoy’s War and Peace.

Sebastian Hartmann is considered one of the big innovators of contemporary German theatre, and asked Ring to contribute to this mammoth project, which was commissioned by the renowned German arts festival Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen.
