Alright everybody! Everybody, I’m super excited to be with you guys today. Michael Gebben here and we’re gonna have a rockin’ day today ‘coz this one is about this right here. No, not fully. I got a new haircut and I’m super excited about it. Here’s the thing that’s interesting. I wanna just do an off the wall video today for you guys. This one’s about treating yourself – treating yourself to just something fun, something new, something whatever (whatever that can be). For me, I actually got a haircut. I got brand new haircut. In fact, it got a little shorter than I normally get it here on the sides. I’m really, really happy with it. I know some of you got haircuts and it brings pang ‘coz they didn’t do a good job. For me, sometimes I like to try new things. They call it a two. I’m like, “Do you got something between a one and two?” She’s like, “Kinda 1.5.” So my hair’s a little long but not that long. She cuts right down here and I’m like, “Oh my gosh.” It looked really, really short. It’s probably the shortest I’ve had in like 10 or 15 years. It’s just interesting though but I went and did it. It got done and I just feel great about it. 

It’s one of those things when we forget how simple things are that can make us happy. For me, that hair cut, it makes me feel good. It wasn’t that bad. My hair wasn’t that long opr that shaggy but it’s one thing that I challenge you to just even a haircut now today. Is that something that maybe you’ve been putting off. You got get that haircut. You clean yourself up a little bit. You can treat yourself. Maybe you’re a woman, maybe you’re a man, you can go out. Get a massage. Go somewhere. Spend that 40 bucks. Get a massage. Feel good. Get your nails done or whatever. There are different things that you can do but just take that time this coming weekend. Tonight if you want, whenever you’re watching this but just treat yourself. Treat yourself to something. Maybe it’s a nice dinner, maybe you haven’t gone out to the movies in a while. Whatever it is for you, just do that thing that just makes you feel good. 

This is a simple, simple, simple video today. I don’t have any major stories or anything crazy. This would probably still gonna be five minutes long but the biggest thing is I got this haircut and I just felt great about it. It makes me feel I’m a person. Sometimes, maybe that haircut, maybe whatever it is you shed something to, that you shed something. You shed part of your old self that you’re trying to let go of. Maybe that haircut symbolizes something for you. That can be the thing too. Haircut, whatever it is, that working out… for me, it’s feeling good. For me it’s feeling good and working out, going for a walk, eating healthy. These things are symbols for me to have that vibrant life, to have that energy that I’m able to deliver to you guys. If I was overweight, eating a bunch of junk all the time, never walked, never worked out, let my hair grow and all these things, I’d feel like crap. Naturally, I’d look like this. It’s hard to be happy when I’m like this. But when I bring that and I raise up my shoulders and I smile and I talk, but I’m not that all the time. When I bring that energy and I have all these elements, they are symbols for me to feel good and for me to be happy. 

I want that for you guys. I want you guys to be able to do that stuff that can symbolize this new rebirth of you and who you are and maybe who you’re wanting to become. To some of you, I’m hoping you’re who you want to be right now. We always have room for improvement, each and every one of us. Even though I wanna improve, I wanna get better, it doesn’t mean you’re not happy with who you are today. That’s the thing that’s very important. Some of you may be struggling. Some of you are like, “Man, I’m holding on to this. I’m holding on to that. I got this weight.” You hate that weight where you feel tensed. You can do those things. Just shed. Shed that old stuff. Shed that crap. Just make a new YOU. Treat yourself to something awesome. Whatever it is, throw in some different things but ultimately, whatever that is, just treat yourself. Treat yourself good. Treat yourself with respect. That sounds cliché or cheesy maybe even too but it’s true. 

How you treat yourself inside and out, what you listen to, what you eat, what you watch, all the things you do, they all affect you inside and out with who you are and how you portray yourself to the world. When you get that little haircut that you feel good about, you do those little things, you work out, you have that walk, when you can stand a little taller a little more confidently, people see something a little different. The things that can happen for you in your life when you come from that place of confidence and belief in yourself and you feel good, great things can happen for you. All the things I talk about in these videos that anything is possible, it’s very difficult for anything to be possible when you don’t believe, when you’re not confident and you don’t feel good about yourself. 

Just go out there again. I’m pumping it on hard core today but just go out there and do that thing that makes you feel good. For me, it’s this new haircut for me today. I’m just really excited. Honestly guys, I say this and we’ll go on again for a few minutes here and we’re pretty much done. For anybody who’s like, “Ahh god, I’m good,” you can probably leave now. But otherwise, let’s just talk here for a second ‘coz I feel good about things. I’m really excited about everything that’s going on. The Youtube videos have been a blast. This has been so much fun and I love bringing this to you guys each and every single week. Everybody listening to the GEBBS Juice, it’s been awesome. You guy’s are freakin’ rokcin’ it. If you haven’t checked it out, I’m still working on it. I’ve got some bigger plans but right now, I’ve done a little bit of a face lift. I’ll probably have an even bigger one here soon. Alright, alright, alright! Hey everybody, Michael Gebben here and I’m super excited to be with you on another rockin’ Wednesday. 

So today, I wanna talk to you about how to be famous ‘coz this is a simple, simple thing for you. You’ll say, “Well, why do I wanna be famous? I don’t wanna be famous.” Here’s the thing. I’m talking to a lot of creative entrepreneurs out there. You guys who are wanting to be photographers, artists, musicians and all these different things. The reality is, there needs to be a level of fame.

The way I’m gonna identify fame is not the idea of the most recent Kim Kardashian (I just had to do it). Ultimately, the fame of just the idea of people know who you are for your business, for whatever it is that you do because if really no one knows who you are at all, it’s really difficult to stay in business. Here’s what I wanna talk about in regards to how to be famous in the idea of your business and just enough to be able to stay in business, to be able to be successful doing what you’re doing, to do what you love. 

Here’s what I like to do. We’ve talked about this before. It’s this idea of consistency. Everybody could do this. Even if you’re not in business, you’ll probably go, “Yeah, I do that already.” Maybe not a lot but how can you engineer it so you do it a lot more? One scenario is Subway. You may say, “Subway? What is that have to do with business?” Here’s the thing. At different points in my life, I’ve changed these things. I’ve never done too many things forever but I’ve done them long enough to engineer a level of fame if you will. 

There was a time when I went to Subway pretty much every single day. I weigh about 150lbs right now. A few years ago, I was about 185lbs. I’m about 5’9” and my dad and my brother kept making fun of me so much and said I had man boobs. I said, “Enough is enough. I’ve gotta get healthy and in shape.” Now, I have so much energy because I’m in great shape. What I did was, I started walking, I started riding my bike and I started going to Subway. I would walk to Subway. I would go there every single day, sometimes a couple of times a day and I would get the same exact sandwich. Guess what? I got treated like a celebrity there. I got extra special treatment because they knew my face. They knew who I was and since I got the same thing consistently… back to last week kind of habits… the idea of doing the same thing over and over again. They would start making my sandwich before I even said anything. I didn’t even need to say anything at times. I get free cookies, all sorts of special treatments. I have had that at restaurants especially all through my life. My parents even get that.

We all say we want this variety but if you don’t do anything consistently especially in business where people know you for something… we all say, “I wanna do a million different things. I like this. I like that. I like all these things.” I’ll do another video on that in the future again but the reality is, if you never focus and get known for something, it’s difficult for people to know how they can help you, how they can come to you, what they come to you for because you do so many different things and you’re really not great at anything. 

For me, I’ve done that in my personal life where I get this special fame, celebrity treatment but I’ve also done it in my business life when I became known as the Same Day Edit guy for weddings because I was doing so many things in weddings and pleasing everybody in all walks of life and doing anything that anybody asks me to do when I was driven crazy by it and so not happy anymore. Finally, I said, “I love the Same Day Edit. That’s what I’m gonna do.” There’s a little bit more than that but at the core, that’s what it is. And I did that, that, that, that over and over again. I became known as the Same Day Edit guy.

And then not only the Same Day Edit guy just in weddings but also in commercial work and all things outside of weddings. Right now, that is another thing I do all the time. I do it in my videos. I do it in social media with Instagram. If you go to my Instagram account http://instagram.com/mgebbs you will find 98% of my account is thumbs up photos either by myself or with someone else. Hopefully, I get a thumbs up photo with you someday. I became known for that. The shirts, every single week… I wear a different shirt. That’ll become the thing that you guys talk to others about about me or I just have so much energy. I’m so positive. “There’s this guy, you gotta watch these videos.”

I do these same things over and over again so you know and that’s what gets ingrain in your mind and that makes it easy to talk about. It’s difficult to talk about you and your business if you don’t know what you do. I guarantee you others don’t know what you do or what you stand for. That’s what I really just want you guys to think about this week. I want you to think about… like I said, business or not, it can be fun. You just start going to the same place. It doesn’t mean you go 7 days a week. I even have a sushi place that me and my girlfriend go at pretty much every week, one time every week. We get the same waitress, she knows what we want, we get special treatment, she’s super nice. It’s awesome. 

You don’t have to be a celebrity. You don’t have to go to fancy places and spend a lot of money and all these things to become known. You can be known in your own little world. I promise you, you don’t need to have a Kim Kardashian status of known to be successful and deliver great life and be happy and fulfilled. That’s what I want for you guys and I really want it for you guys who are in business because you entrepreneurs especially the creatives, you gotta learn that you’ve got to become known for something. That doesn’t mean that you get boxed into that and that’s all you’re known for the rest of your life. For me, I’ve been making that shift into the positive, motivational, inspirational space for a few years now but I’ve made a conscious effort to make sure that’s my goal, that’s what I want. I’ve become known for that now. Some of you might not have even realized that I have a video production company. I know I’ve mentioned it from time to time but there might be a lot of you and stop, this is what I do. ‘Coz that’s what I’ve been doing now, that’s what I’ve been putting out. You gotta put out there the things… that’s one little nugget I wanna add. 

Another videographer I was talking with recently, he goes and shows me his portfolio on his site and he says, “These two videos are what I really love to do. This video is what I do for whatever right now but I don’t really like doing that.” Get it off your site. Do not showcase on your site whatever it is that you do, your art, your music, your freakin’ photos, whatever it is that you do. Only showcase the best work and the work that you love doing. 

Yeah, there are gonna be things you have to do that you don’t like doing maybe to pay the bills sometimes upfront while you get going but you always gotta have your eye on the target and what you really want and the type of jobs and projects you really want and wanna work on. So when you’re working on those things you really don’t like, don’t show them, don’t share them. Just share the things that you love. 

The final tidbit for that is the way I had been able to build up something that I love so I’m happy everyday working on what I wanna work on, is through the free work. People always have this weird thing about it but for me, the free work allowed me to create the type of work that I was proud of and then I would wanna share, and then I  would wanna do so I could attract that kind of work and I could attract the kind of clients that wanted me to that kind of work… ‘coz that’s when they came into my site, that’s what they saw. 

Those are some main little nuggets today and just things to think about. That’s my big thing. I’m on a little rampage right now. We tweak to more open your mind and even the tactical things per se. I really want you to just keep opening your mind, to seeing things differently and being able to just like I said, just know that once you’re aware of these things, you can start to make them possible and you can start to take action on these things.

Alright, alright, alright! Hey everybody! Michael Gebben here and I’m super excited to be with you on another rockin’ Wednesday. So, we’ve got the holidays coming up. We’ve got Christmas. We’ve got New Year. Things are crazy. People are busy. I appreciate you taking the time to watch this today and I’m gonna get right into it. I don’t wanna waste any time.

So, two topics: You can be a hero and how to be happy. I get asked all the time how to be happy. Let’s talk about the hero one. When I was actually wanting to get into the motivational, self-help, personal development space and motivating people, I kept getting asked from people that I was looking up to, “Who do you wanna be the hero for?” “Who are you really wanting… when people look at you, who are you that hero for?” “Who do you really help?” 

Of course in my mind I think I help everybody. You guys watch these videos and lots of you do lots of different things and get inspired. That’s important to me but when I really thought about it, who do I have this deep almost pain for that I really wanna help, I really wanna be that hero for? For me, it’s that creative entrepreneur, that person who has that creative talent who wants to create something – whether you’re a videographer, a photographer, an artist, a musician and you have that special skill set, that something really special that you love doing, that you don’t see yourself doing anything else. 

But… (that’s where the big but comes in) so many of you are out there and you want to do that but you can’t figure out how, you can’t make your living at it but you can, but right now you can’t. You’re not doing it. You want to but it’s just not been possible for you. Much like my channel, I truly believe that anything is possible but for me, I know that there are so many of you out there struggling to succeed doing what it is that you love with your special skill set. But, that’s where this channel comes in, that’s where all the things that I do right now. I wanna inspire and motivate and get you to believe in yourself because what I’ve seen, there are so many people out there who are so talented. They just don’t believe in themselves. Once you start believing, (you’ve heard me say it before) amazing things can happen.

For me, it’s helping that creative entrepreneur. It brings so much joy to me to help those people out. That’s also where it’s most congruent for me because that’s where my skill set really lies. I built a very successful video production company up over the last 8-10 years and it’s been a crazy ride. But for me, I have that desire now to help others achieve that same level of success and beyond that I was able to achieve because I know it’s possible. I’ve seen it myself and I’ve helped many other person achieve it as well. 

For me, that’s what’s so important but for you, much like my shirt, “Heroes come in all shapes and sizes.” So who are you that hero for? The reality is you, yes you can be a hero not just Batman, not just Superman and Spiderman and all those super heroes. We can all be heroes to somebody. I’m not just a hero to a creative entrepreneur. I’m a hero to a little kid in grade school who has got these ideas and big dreams. I’m a hero to hopefully my girlfriend, my brother, my mom, my dad and some of my closest friends and family. I look up to them but they might look up to me and the things that I’ve achieved and I’ve inspired them. 

We can be the hero to so many different people and the thing for me that you have to realize is what’s that thing that you’ve done in life that’s been a pain? I mean something that’s been painful for you, that has been negative, that didn’t work out but now is. Now, you’ve shifted things around and now you can be that hero for someone else who’s struggling with that thing you struggled with but now you’ve overcome. Now, you can be the hero for that person to help them overcome that same thing that is painful to them and you don’t want someone else to have that same level of pain that you had. 

Happiness comes from giving, from helping others, from giving unconditionally. I have so many things but for me, the happiness when I get asked about it all the time, that the reality is it ties in to my whole hero thing. It’s helping others and being there for others when they need someone most. That can be your wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, friend, classmate, whoever. Can you be there for me? Because for me, happiness is a couple of things. Happiness is getting up and doing something I love every single day. But happiness is also emotion. 

For me, all the things I do, I might not have transactional things happen of things in return but the thing for me that means more than anything, is a smile, is a message, is a tear, is laughter. I love reactions and I love seeing that emotion. I love seeing those light bulb moments in other people where they realize that anything is possible. That means the world to me. What is it for you? What is it for you that can bring happiness because I’ll tell you right now, the other way you achieve happiness is you decide to be happy. It sounds crazy. It does saying it. You decide. But we have a choice each and every single day and every single moment of our lives, we have choices that we can make. More than likely, yes there are things that happen, (I’m not gonna lie) that throw big curve balls into our life and they can be hard to overcome but you can overcome them. 

Most of the time, in our lives, our happiness come from random things that we really don’t understand. When we can make a choice to say, “I’m gonna be happy. I’ll wake up and I’m gonna do something crazy today. I’m gonna have fun.” You make the choice. If everything’s crappy and you say, “Man, life sucks. This isn’t working out. I wish I can do this. I wish I can do that.” That’s your fault and no one else’s so stop playing the blame game. Blame yourself because as soon as you make that conscious choice that you’re gonna be happy, you can start being happy. You don’t have to wait till some far off distant future to be happy. You can be happy today. With the holidays and everything happening right now and all these craziness, you have plenty of opportunities to put a smile on someone else’s face, to be that hero for somebody in need because the worst thing around the holidays is to have someone that you know doesn’t have a friend right now or doesn’t have someone there for them. So be there for someone, be a friend to someone.

That’s what it’s all about my friends. At these crazy times, we’ve got a lot coming up with 2015. Just really excited for all of you for next year but I just want you to know, just stop, relax (like I’ve said in the last couple of videos). Enjoy the holidays. Enjoy this time with friends and family. Everything will be there tomorrow. It’s not going anywhere and you’ll be able to get everything done in 2015. You will start fresh. You will crush it. 

So it’s gonna be a blast but enjoy yourself right now and realize happiness is one of those things that we choose to be. It’s not some random thing with all these random things that has to happen. It comes from inside. It comes from inside and I make choices every day to do things that’ll lead to me being able to easily be happy. Any time, I’m going out of path for too long, when things aren’t lining up and I’m not too happy, I do my best to change those things rather than continue to divulge down those paths and continue to go down those paths of unhappiness. 

So make that choice today to be happy. Also, think about who can you be that hero for? Because you, no matter what shape, size, age, ethnicity, anything, can be the hero for someone. It doesn’t have to be the world. It can be one person ‘coz that one person is worth just as much as the world.

You Can Be A Hero And How To Be Happy

Hey everybody! Michael Gebben here and I’m super excited to be with you on another rockin’ Wednesday, our first Wednesday in 2015. I wanna bring the fire today. I’m really, really fired up. I’ve got a good one I wanna talk to you about. This is gonna get your year started right. 

First off, last week, Jumpstart your 2015 – If you missed that video, you can go back and watch the whole video but I highly suggest that you click right here, watch it after this and check out the part you probably missed ‘coz it started about 8 minutes in. So if you didn’t watch that far, you missed it where I talked about my latest community – the Jumpstarters Community. I’m not gonna say anything about it in this video ‘coz if you already watched it then you heard about it. If not, then click right here and go check it out and it’ll go right into that point in that video and you’ll get to listen to it.

It’s pretty awesome I might add. What I wanna talk to you about today ties a little bit of that in but also ties in you getting the results in 2015 that you are really after – yes, you’re really after the core but you probably might have been after certain goal in 2014, 2013 and maybe or maybe not, you achieved or didn’t achieve those goals. I’m gonna assume which I don’t usually like to do, for one second that maybe you didn’t achieve all the things that you’ve been wanting to achieve recently, and this year you’re hoping it’s going to be different. Why you want it to be different for you? 

See, for me, I’ve been doing a lot of coaching with people, doing a lot of calls and talked to a lot of people. In our Jumpstarters, I’m always hearing what’s going on with everybody, what their struggles are and what’s really causing grief. I actually had a call with somebody today. A lot of the things that are plaguing others have also plagued myself even when recently, there are things that I still struggle with. Coaches need coaches. We all need someone to turn to but it’s easier for us to see those things in others than it is to see it in ourselves. 

I was talking to somebody today and we were talking about this idea of wanting certain things to happen. We have these goals. We created these visions. We know all that we want but then what do we do? We sit back and we wait for the phone to ring, for the text messages to come in, for the emails to come flooding in, the Facebook messages, the Twitter messages. Whatever it is from whatever form it is, we hope and we pray every single day. We sit on our couch, we sit in our car, we stay and we stare, we look at our phone and we keep refreshing, hoping that someone is gonna message us, that that next client, that next prospect is gonna sit here and get a hold of us, that they’re gonna take initiative or it’s their fault, that I talked to this person and they didn’t want my services. I told them what it costs. I showed them my work. 

I said, “Hey, this is what it costs. Do you wanna do business together?” And then they said, “Yeah. That sounds interesting. I’ll get back to you.” And then guess what? That person they talked to never got back to them or I was alluding to, they never even got a hold of them to begin with because you’re sitting, waiting for them to contact you. 

So here’s the thing for me, my video production company, I got to a point where people did come to me. Why? Because I did so much giving and so much value for so long it put myself out there in so many ways that finally, things just started flooding in and I could sit back and watch the phone ring and the emails come in. But that doesn’t happen overnight. If you’re inspired by somebody else in your industry or whatever you’re doing that tell you that things are easy and tell you to just push these couple of buttons, buy this thing, bada bing bada boom, all these magic’s gonna happen and people would just start flooding in and you’re brand new by the way.

The thing for me, if you are in your beginning stages or maybe I have people contacting me who have been in business for 30 years and things have gotten stale for them, it’s gotten wrong, it’s not working out. Things aren’t the way they used to be. It doesn’t matter where you’re at. The reality is, if things aren’t going your way and you want them to go your way this year, you better be ready to get up and get out and get on that phone and get on those messages and reach out and hustle. Make it happen. Don’t wait for things to happen. 

Too many times, we sit back and wait and they will not happen because there’s somebody else out there hungrier than you making it happen. One of those people is me. I’m a hungry person who goes out there and ‘m not talking about going getting something to eat. I’m talking about going out there and making things happen. For so long, I wanted to make things happen in the motivational, inspirational and personal development and self-help space. Although I have these videos, although I have been doing some things, my primary business was still my video production but I want it so badly. Just like you, you want it so badly to have this other thing or just have this one thing in general to work out. For me, I’ve been in business for 11 years and just had this burning desire to inspire, burning desire to inspire, bring the fire, inspire, whatever. 

Much like any of you, we get stuck. How do I do this? I spend so much time trying to figure things out and waiting and using the internet and social media, hoping that just by putting things out into the world, people would start contacting me. I wanted in 2015 saying, “Enough is enough.” I’m going back to my roots. I’m going back to what I actually coach people on in regards to the service-based industry and a lot of things out there which is “Get out there and hustle. Pound the pavement. Make connections. Build relationships.”

I built a lot of relationships and have a lot of connections but I was trying to use the internet and just putting out videos and hoping everybody will just come flocking to me. I realized that’s not how things work. That’s not how things work. So for me, just in 2015, I told myself, I gotta get out there. I wanna inspire 50,000 people this year (in person!). I’ve had hundreds and thousands of people watch these Youtube videos and listen to my Gebbs Juice and these other things that I’ve done but not in the real world, not in the physical person where I can connect, I can see the smiles. I don’t just see a chatroom lighting up. Although that serves a purpose and allows me to reach people truly all over the world just like these videos, the reality is it’s not the same for me as it is being in person. 

I said to myself, “I wanna get out there and I wanna speak.” And I wanna inspire people and see their faces light up. So what do I do? Just today and yesterday, I started reaching out. I started calling people. I started texting people. I started emailing people. I started messaging people on Facebook. I put things on Facebook and then people said things and then I messaged those people and talked to them. Just today, already I have lined up speaking engagements. 

Now you might say, “Are you getting paid for those?” Here’s the nugget that I can’t seem to get through to a lot of people but I hope you understand this and by the way, personal shamless plug, if you have a school or organization that you have seen on my videos but you never thought of it because I never brought it up and you’d like me to come speak, listen to the rest of this because I would love to come speak to your school or organization and bring the fire and inspire them to dream bigger and live with much more passion and enthusiasm so that you can have an awesome business or just an awesome life. 

So, the thing I’m doing for speaking right now is the same thing I did to grow my video production company. You want a little bit of something rather than a lotta bit of nothing. Too many people are inspired to go out there and say, “I’ve gotta charge a premium.” “I bought all these stuff. “ “I have this expensive college education so by god, I deserve and expect the best and I will take nothing less.” So you sit there and expect the world, you expect people to pay you premiums, you expect people to give you everything because you deserve it. The reality is I talk a lot about supply and demand. When you’re brand new, I don’t care what degree you have or how great your work is. If there ain’t nobody who knows who you are, you aren’t going out there immediately charging uber premium rates and then just blowing out and being super successful. 

I don’t know really anybody who has had it where instantaneously, they just thought about it, read about it, learned about it, watched about it and then all of a sudden they went out there and boom! instantaneously, massive overnight success, literally. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen. Somewhere along the line, someone’s hustling to make it happen. Here’s the thing, you go out there and you think you expect the world so you go out and try to charge these premium rates or you let people take advantage of you. There are two things. You try to charge premium rates and nobody says yes or you have people saying, “Yeah. We’ll help you out. I’ll do this and that. I’m gonna hook you up.” And then they want you to do free work. They expect it of you. So when I talk about free work. This isn’t an expectation. This is a YOU giving massive value. Stop hiding behind your computer or behind text messages and Facebook messages and any kind of message that you can hide behind. Then somebody says, “Hey what’s your price?” and you say, “This is what it is.” And that’s it and expect. Or “This is all the gear I use. This is all the technology. This is what I bought. These are all degree or this is all the this.”

It doesn’t matter. Deliver the value. Show people that you are worth something. Show people that you are worth paying. For me, in video production, I went out there and did anything and everything I could to do work because when I work, I learn. When I learn, I earn. When I’m able to keep doing more things, I start creating the demand. I only have so much supply. So when you’re demand is greater than your supply, guess what? Now you can charge a premium rather than the other way around which is having tons of supply and no demand and be immediately a cherry picker and trying to pick out very specific things and trying to charge a premium. That can come and it should come. You are very deserving of getting premium rates for your services and I promise you people will pay them. There are plenty of people on this planet burning money right now. I promise you that. 

The reality is what you need to do is give massive, massive value. For me, what am I doing with the speaking right now? Well to start out, I’ve done things like I said but out there in person, I haven’t done tons. I’ve spoken in Germany and I’ve spoken to a few other places in the United States but I wanna really take it to the next level. When I know I’m gonna take it to the next level, what do I do? I try to be different. I try to be unique. I wanna deliver massive value. Since the speaking isn’t my main source of income, I just wanna get out there in the real world and inspire people and motivate them to take massive action. 

For me, what am I doing? It doesn’t cost anything to bring Mr. Gebbinator in to speak. Now granted, one caveat. If you are not local to where I live in Southern Illinois or St. Louis, Missouri area, then there are some fees. I can’t fly places and be in the hole so there’s one caveat. But in the local area and in other areas if you pay certain fees, basically beyond that, I’m doing a blank invoice. I come, I rock the house and you’re either blown away and pay what you can or what you think it’s worth or you’re blown away and you pay nothing. No harm no foul. I’m in it to not let anybody be held back by that price because I know. I’ve done this before. I did it with my wedding business. I used to love the Same Day Edit and people will go “What Same Day Edit?” “What is that?” “I don’t want that. Why would I pay for that? That sounds stupid.” Whether they would pay me or not or they wanted it or not, 9 times out of 10 I did it. Little did I know that 2 or 3 years later, after I did a bunch of free ones, that is what I get paid a premium for. That was the thing that changed my life. That was the thing that changed my business. That was the thing that opened up doors not only in weddings but in commercial work and then the things that I’m doing today because I loved it. 

Tying it in to Jumpstarters, when I started Jumpstarters, I had the idea on September 1st. I launched 3 days later on my birthday. Monday, it was Thursday I launched having no idea really what it was going to be or what to really charge. I said, $5 is the minimum. $5/mo or you pay whatever you want. I had 100 people join initially.  Out of those 100 people I had people pay $5, $7, $10, $13, $20, $25, $30, $50 and $97 a month and they only had to give $5. Whatever’s valued at to you. That point in time, all they got was a Facebook group and one video. The following week, I was gonna do a call. Now, here we are in January. This started in September and this thing is a living, breathing, thriving community of awesome creative people. And not just creatives, there are all sorts of awesome people from all over the world getting massive results, doing things that they never once thought possible. Had I waited for perfection, had I waited until I thought the time is right or tried to charge some crazy number because that’s what other people said I should do because that’s what the world does, I would not have what I have today. You have the opportunity to be a part of. 

Same for me with speaking, I know and I don’t have a single doubt in my mind that by going out here with the approach that I have, that in one way, shape or form, a year or so from now, I will have way more demand than I have supply and will be charging a premium for my speaking because if 30 people want me for a date, there’s only one of me available, guess what? I’ve done this before and I know it works. The thing is, even for whatever is you’re doing, it doesn’t have to be speaking. It doesn’t have to be video production. It can be art. It can be photography. It can be writing, blogging, web design, any kind of design, any kind of creativity, anything where you have a skill set or even if you wanna freakin’ get a job, go out there and show them what you’re worth. For me personally, I pick up the phone and I talk to people. 

I talked to somebody on the phone for quite a while today and they didn’t pay me anything. It doesn’t matter. I provided massive value to them rather than going, “This is what I cost. Pay it ‘coz I’m a hot stuff.” That’s how I live my life – provide massive value, give. That’s what these videos are about. It’s to give massive value each and every single week. Some of you will continue to watch each and every single week. We might never meet in person. You might never give me a dollar but one way or another, your life has been impacted or you have impacted someone else’s life and that’s all that matters to me ‘coz it’s not about the money for me. I’ve been taken care of very nicely because of the life I’ve chosen to live of giving, of caring unconditionally for others. When I take that to the max is when I get max results. When I’m not doing that to my maximum capacity, that’s when things are a little bit ho- hum . 

I know that 2015 is going to be an outstanding year but not only for myself but for each and every single one of you who choose to go out there and stop waiting for people to choose you and for people to call you but for you to reach out and give and care and help unconditionally without any care in the world or expectation of receiving anything in return because I promise you, if you do it and you’re not being sought out saying do something for free but you go out there and you show people what you’re worth and you create a demand, you will be able to demand whatever it is that you want and people will book you for you not because of the quality of work that you produce. I can promise you that as well because people wanna work with people they know, like and trust. 

So my friends, go out there this year in 2015 and make it happen. Don’t wait for one more second for you to be chosen, for you to be called or for you to be anything else. You be you. Own you and own who you are. Go rock it out.
