Legendary German techno duo Pan-Pot announce their brand-new project ‘FORTE’, a collection of ten singles. Each track presents individually, each telling their own unique story influenced by the duo’s ever-evolving sound over the years - something that has kept them perpetually current. The culmination also marks a milestone 20th anniversary for the duo, serving as a resounding reminder of why they have been at the forefront of the scene for over two decades.

’FORTE’ meaning strong, translates all the good and bad times we have had, in a way that reflects on our sound. It's a journey of reflection, reinvention, and inspiration from our travels around the world and the people we have met along the way. The tracks emulate the past, present, and future, in a range of styles, but most importantly they are all tracks which we love and enjoy playing. On his newest triplet, Len Faki lets loose alien-induced sounds and strange frequencies from far outer space. The A-side goes for Mod21, an enigmatic Italien whose instinct for building a sketchy vibe shines through too on Faki‘s remixes. They‘re both radiant,
sparkling from somewhere buried deep down, their hollowed-out drums and crisp sonics conjuring up an orbital charge! The flip boasts a beefed-up version of Irakli‘s 34 Choices of Gender, its bassline subtly morphing underneath a string of complex net of woven sounds. A slowly brewing vortex finally discharged in true Faki fashion.

MICHAEL KLEIN - MEDUSA EP - CORDIG038

Michael Klein makes a big impact once again on Cocoon recordings as this runaway train of an EP careers towards a sound system near you. But there’s more to these lessons in slamming techno than first meets the eye. The entire release is awesome in both scope and execution, with a level of sonic precision and controlled aggression that will dominate any dancefloor.

The riotous first cut Medusa jumps straight in with a cascading rush of energy. Searing synths, percolating acid and pounding beats jostle for position like the writhing knot of snakes referenced in the title. My Castle employs a glitchy, filtered intro that makes for a perfect mixing tool. The air is suddenly sucked out as thumping, subsonic 909s and scratchy textures melt the synapses, bringing on a rush of enormous proportions. Klein explores every variant to its logical conclusion, making sure there’s no doubt about who’s king of this castle.

Their Kingdom is an exercise in stuttering, looping techno for the purists. Clean and heavy definitely wins the race here as we’re enveloped in a cavernous breakdown and darkness falls.
Noises rounds things off in a melee of squawking mechanical bleeps and lethal, metallic percussion. A distant melody dares to enter the fray and like the legions of dancers transfixed by Klein‘s vision, it must surrender to the intensity or be swept aside.
