MIMS is excited premiere "Alcazar" an uplifting & cinematic slice of dancefloor ready jazz that should sound incredible on a good sound system in a dark, low-ceilinged room.

Recalling 4Hero and Cinematic Orchestra, Vertaal's Odyssey is due for release on Empty Quarter Tribe as a bonus track on the new physical and extended version of their debut release, 'Paradigm Shifting'.

The track was inspired by observing people’s habits and home rituals during lockdowns. Multi-instrumentalist Theo Howarth and drummer Ajit Gill are joined by bass player Severin Bruhin and saxophonist Loren Hignall.

Gill and Howarth originally bonded over a shared love of groove, broken beat, Dill, neo soul, and that blend of jazz with funk, soul and electronic music often referred to as nu jazz.

As Vertaal the duo recorded and released music inspired be these shared musical tastes, releasing the 'Speric' E.P. in 2017, and 'Paradign Shifting' album in 2020, both on Empty Quarter Tribe.

Die erste von zwei Episoden setzt den Schwerpunkt auf die psychologischen Grundlagen, die die Neurowissenschaftlerin Maren Urner erläutert.

Prof. Dr. Maren Urner lehrt an der HMKW Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirtschaft unter anderem Medienpsychologie sowie Digitales Spielen und Lernen in den Fachbereichen Psychologie sowie Journalismus und Kommunikation.
Fiete Kretschmer hat an der HMKW Köln den B.Sc. Medien- und Wirtschaftspsychologie absolviert und studiert nun im M.Sc. Wirtschaftspsychologie. Durch die Beschäftigung im Rahmen seiner Bachelorarbeit mit dem Thema Nachhaltigkeit an Hochschulen hat er sich der Idee verschrieben, an der HMKW ein Green Office zu etablieren. The second part of my warmup for Swound Sound on 24 August 2023 at the incomparable Usus am Wasser in Vienna, with the inimitable Sugar B on the mic. 

I found a bunch of excellent edits of classic rock songs in the months before and put them in order. The time was late afternoon, the temperature above 30 degrees - the music did not really help to cool things down.

Finally, the sun was already setting, the third part of my Warmup for Swound Sound on 24 August 2023 at the wonderful Usus am Wasser in Vienna, with the inimitable Sugar B on the mic. 

The paradoxon here definitely is playing a warmup at over 30 degrees of temperature, as if it weren't hot wenough, but that's what it was.  This is more or less free style, with one target only: get the floor moving before the show starts. I think this mission was accomplished. And that's also the reason this is called 'Roll'.

We’re excited to premiere the vibrant ‘Volta Region’. Named after a beautiful region in Eastern Ghana bordering Togo. The main riff to the song came to Nick whilst travelling in that region, after a few years of playing around with it and experimenting he managed to use it as the basis for this extended composition.
